    I found this link: http://www.vividinfinity.com/fingerwave/fingerwaving.pdf
Looks very tricky and you`d need a good amount of hair product.. I`ve also heard you can create finger waves with some product (like gel or mouse) and some hair pins. Maybe try searching it on youtube? I`m also interested in learning how to create finger waves. It`s a great style!

This looks spot on, just like how I learned to do it at my hair course 🙂 Practise a lot before the actual event!
In regards to that video posted above, hers are loose because of all the fussing she does to gently move the hair from side to side to create the wave. For a tighter look with that kind of sharp ridge, you just put the comb teeth in your hair and give one or two firm pushes to the side you want. Your finger should be holding your hair tightly, so the hair you already styled wont move.
*I`m no expert, this is just how we were taught.

Gosh, so it looks like there`s the traditional way – the link you just posted and the cheats way. The traditional way looks much more flapper-ish I think but I`m so bad with hair I doubt I could achieve this! Perhaps I`ll ask my house-mate if she thinks she`s capable. Hmmmmm, the plot thickens!

I was about to create a topic but then found this oldie which is pretty much spot on what I`m wanting to ask about….

So I`ve got a flapper/1920`s theme photo shoot coming up and I think finger waves is the iconic hairstyle of this time.
    Do you ladies agree?
Anyone have any tips, advice etc for achieving this look?

Just googled and very pretty, more 1930`s it says than 1920`s, but I think it would be perfect!!
Here`s a link to a vid if you want:

They actually have an article in the grazia magazine this week for the flapper 1920`s look. It says to use a curling tong and do your whole head, then when the curls are cool/set to pin them under to achieve the “”flapper bob””. Love this look 🙂
    Hope this helps 🙂

Oh wow, thanks MissChriss!! This helps heaps 🙂
