Eye Primer!!

Hi, i was just wondering if anyone could suggest the best eye-primer for keeping on eyeliner/eyeshadow..
I’m not super rich, so department store/supermarket brands will have to do.
My eyeliner never seems to stay on, i’ve baught waterproof ones that are meant to last for 12-16 hours but they never work! I heard if i use a primer it will help, i just don’t know which to use!!

I have both Urban Decay and Australis, they are both good but Urban Decay is just a bit better in my books 🙂

I love UD’s Primer Potion it works great on my hooded eyes. The first eye primer I tried was FOA and I hated it. My eye lid becme oily, my shadow creased way more than usual and felt like my shadow was melting off my face.
I think I am going to try TF Shadow insurance next.

I bought Etude house proof 10 eye primer and I love it! It’s very affordable (I got mine for $7) but it is difficult to find in Australia. I would totally recommend it, although I haven’t tried any others so I can’t compare them. I have very oily eyelids and it makes my shadows that crease in an hour last the entire day!

face of australia is the best and most affordable! really good quality for what its worth.

It’s really good! Eye shadows stick like crazy to it and come up much more vibrant, no budging.

They definitely help it stay put for longer and I find the colours can look a lot more pigmented over primer as well.
I used the Red Earth one and loved it. Then Red Earth disappeared and I got really upset when mine ran out. I still have a mini Red Earth one I got in a set, but I think I’ll look into the FOA one next as that price point is a good one for my budget 🙂

I tend to be a bit lazy and just apply some loose powder (Maybelline Shine Free) under my eyes with my fingers, then dust it off with a fluffy make-up brush. Helps prevent ‘panda eyes’/smudging under the eyes.

But thanks for all the great posts. Was tossing up between M.A.C. and Too Faced for eyeshadow primer (to make the colours brighter and last longer, rather than prevent smudging) but I think I’ll have to go with Too Faced after all of your comments!

I love too faced shadow insurance…just restocked from ebay but it hasn’t arrived yet…I got 2 full sized tubes for $16.77 Australian dollars and free shipping from the US.
I love this primer because it make all eyeshadows true to colour and they really pop…guess who loves their eyeshadow haha!!

I’ve got Jordana eye primer and it’s pretty good. I bought it online and it was only $1 or $2

I love Too Faced Shadow Insurance! I tried it against UDPP (one on each eye) and while they were both fantastic, TFSI definitely one! No transferring and the colours were bolder at the end of the day. I love NARS Smudge Proof as well! I’ve tried NYX but didn’t like it as I found there was a lot of creasing. Revlon Creme Shadows (in the quads) work well but YOU MUST BLOT THEM otherwise they crease and transfer like CRAZY! I apply, blot, do a second layer, blot again and then do my eye makeup. 🙂 MAC Paint Pots didn’t impress me all that much.. :-/
