Eye news

I recently learned I need reading glasses. Laser surgery is out of the question for me as I am not confident it has been mastered given some of the stories I have heard.

My preference is to wear contact lenses given the large colour range and too elimination of losing glasses as I often do with my sunnies.

My optometrist advised glasses are a better way of introducing the eye rather than contact lenses. My question is what difference will it make if I use contacts now or later?

  • Do glasses if you only need them for reading, with contacts its not good to be putting them in and taking them out too much as it leaves more room for infection. Also try not to use them where isn`t necessary, that is, do not form a dependancy on them. Its easier to stop a dependancy if all you have to do is take off a pair of glasses instead of remove contact lenses (i wear contacts myself although i am short sighted). I also find unless i`m going out i couldn`t bother to put contacts in, since after a certain number of hours they get abit dry and uncomfortable (i`m talking like a full day here though).

I also need glasses for reading pusstiss. i wear glasses, and not lenses. mostly because its only for reading and watching telly i need them for. they are better than contacts i think, because thee is no hassle of putting them in and taking them out and all of that. and risk of infection is higher with contacts. but people are diffferent, if yu want to use lenses then you should. getting them sooner would be more beneficial, as reading without them will strain the eyes and just make things worse. that is my opinion anywhoo.
