Evening Primrose Oil

I’ve started taking Evening Primrose Oil when it’s that time to help with general grumpiness and volatile mood swings, and I’ve found it to be quite effective for this.
Unfortunately, it makes my skin even oilier than normal, and exacerbates my skin which is problematic with hormones anyway. I know that evening primrose oil is used to remedy dehydrated skin (which I do not have), I guess my question is does anyone know of any other PMS remedies that don’t increase the oiliness of the skin?
Bad skin flareups and increased oiliness doesn’t make me feel too great, despite the evening primrose oil helping with bad moods, it’s kind of counterproductive!

I`ve found good quality dark chocolate does help, without leaving me feel too bloated. My new favourite is Club`s cashew nut and cherry, OMG to die for 🙂 definitely a mood enhancer!!!

Empire it might be a good idea to see a naturopath – sounds like your hormones are a bit unbalanced – hence the moodiness – and they can help re-balance your system.

I take Evening Primrose oil for my period, too, Empire. It has helped to lessen the intensity of my cramps. My skin doesn`t seem to produce excess oil, thank goodness.

    Hey Empire hun,

I`m with you on that time of months. lol. The only thing that I do to help with my moods is eat chocky and take time out for me. I guess you could always ask your doc for something if you really feel that you`re suffering a major difference. Otherwise there may be some other natural alternaives you can try.

Hope someone out there can help you out on this one. xoxoxo
