dry and cracked heel

I need some advice on what to do with my heel. my heel is very dry and cracked to the point where it is split as well. when i walk it hurts. I’ve put sorbolene cream on it for two days now, but i think i need something stronger to heal the dryness and crack.any suggestions?

I’d really recommend going to see a podiatrist (like someone else also suggested) they’ll remove all the hard/dry skin from your heel more effectively than you’d be able to do at home (this must be done to allow the fissures or splits in your heels to heal). You should apply some antiseptic to the splits in the meantime.
Once they’ve removed the dry skin they can provide you with suggestions about how to prevent or slow the build-up of the dry skin. good luck!

There’s this great Palmer’s product for feet, I think it’s called ‘feet magic’. It’s an intensive moisturising cream for dry feet. It’s so great, I only need to apply it once a week or a fortnight to have smooth skin on my heels.

I love the Du’it range for hands and feet. I can’t tolerate socks in bed, but if I use a foot file and rub cream in before going to sleep, my heels are pretty much sorted within a week or two. Walking around barefoot or wearing open-heeled shoes (thongs, Crocs, slides etc) can make heels worse too. If my heels are really bad, I also apply cream before putting my shoes and socks on for work.

Trilogy Everything Balm is still my favourite, works miracles, lol, I find as long as its a balm it works better than anything 🙂

The only thing that works for me is Akin cuticle cream. I have really cracked heals that bleed and are painful and this works a treat. I also like that it doesn’t leave them greasey.

A visit to the podiatrist is the best way to jump start your heels looking better. Sometimes it pays to visit one at the start of Spring and Summer. They get rid of all the hard skin leaving you with smooth soft skin that can then be managed.
