Concealer/foundation for hyperpigmentation
Hi Ladies,
I am very new to this site as I found it whilst trying to find products to give me a flawless face, even though I have hyperpigmentation along my cheekbones and cheeks.
Can anyone help me with regards to what product/s would be best?
I have been using youngblood mineral make up but not happy as I can still see the pigmentation underneath.
Thanks in advance,
Lees

LeesHi! have you tried using a cream? I use Metaderm skin lightening to get rid of my hyperpigmentation.it has faded since i started using metaderm. i suggest you also try creams like this not just make-up that’ll just conceal the patches but won’t get rid of them.

You can try L’oreal Mineral Foundation True Match! IT works really well on me 🙂

Wow, thanks for your very helpful suggestions ladies.
I checked out dermablend but the colours all look too dark for me.
Currently surfing the EM website now which I am loving! And I didn’t think you could even get cosmetics this cheap!!!Actually I went to my local Ella Bache to check out the jane iredale range and after deciding I hated it, have now booked for ipl to hopefully get rid of my issue with pigmentation!!
Let us know how you get on darl 🙂

The Mirenesse Pore Perfect Air Mousse Primer is a bit like a combo moisturiser/primer/concealer/foundation. You can actually use that alone all the time. I have pigmentation and some freckles and it really tones them down. Doesn’t make them disappear completely but makes a big difference to me.

Actually I have to say that EM powders give such good coverage. You can build the coverage up as much or as little as you want too! I have very pale white skin and recently been using salicylic acid on my face to prevent acne. Well it’s made my face so bright red like sunburn, I also have loads of scars. The EM powder covers all redness and gives a flawless look. I think that and the EM concealer would be a perfect pair for you.
It can’t hurt to try them out seen as they are only $12 each full size. Plus the concealer being only $9 full size. That’s a 5th of the price of the youngblood makeup 🙂 I use a kabuki brush and it’s great for building up good strong coverage! I’ve tried many foundations and find this the best so far as I like full coverage. I just haven’t found the correct colour in the range though. I have to add a bit of bronzer to my current one.
The concealer is awesome, like you I woulnd’t have even considered it until I tried it for myself, the best thing about EDM is you can get the sample packs for what about $5 and so you can try a couple of different shades to get a perfect match. The price of the full size is a steal if you wind up liking it 🙂
I have never mixed the powder with cream myself so can’t comment on how it would go, couldn’t hurt to try I imagine 🙂 -

I have always had trouble finding a concealer that looks natural and not caked on my skin. However a member on BH (thanks Michelle007 😉 lol) sent me a sample of Everyday Minerals Intensive Concealer, which is a mineral powder concealer, which I have never tried before. To be honest when it arrived I was highly doubtful that any powder was going to cover any flaws at all, much less my obvious imperfections, however it was love at first try. I was shocked at how well it did in fact cover. It takes a little work to layer the powder over any flaws and nicely blend around the edges so that you can’t notice it, so it pays to have a decent concealer brush for that, then like any other concealer it should be set with a finishing powder. The results amazed me, first of all it was so lightweight and looked so natural, it didn’t sink into any fine lines like creamy ones have in the past, accentuating them so that they look even more noticeable. Nope none of that, nor did it look all caked on and cause my skin to look crepey, which honestly makes me look super old, haha. I have oily skin so because it is a powder it doesn’t wind up going greasy or looking shiny as the day wears on. It also lasts for ages and if I do feel the need to touch it up during the day, its easy to just blend in a little tiny bit where ever its needed, straight over your existing foundation, not under as I would if applying a cream, which also looks ghastly on my skin used on top of makeup that is not fresh. (I use to badly want to wash it all off and start again, but that is not always an option when you are out and about, lol) So for me to date this concealer wins hands down and is the best one I have personally tried. I still can’t get over that a powder would be so effective and I doubt I would have ever even tried it due to my stubborn ways, but glad to be proven wrong and have had the chance to try it out for myself. I went on to purchase a full sized tub, that is huge and was only $9, am still not even close to finishing it and its been over a year, eek.
I would love to try a good cream concealer one day, but so far I just can’t get one to work without any hiccups 🙂 Love reading other peoples suggestions and thoughts on this subject too, as it is something that I always have to address in my daily makeup routine 🙂
I really want to try something like that Dermablend too, or another I read about was the Kat Von D Tattoo Concealer, or some other stage type makeup that is highly pigmented, however it is impossible to match shades online unless they offer samples.Mel that concealer sounds great! I will have to add that to my cart next time I order from EM. I also doubted it would work seen as it’s a powder but glad to hear it does. Are you able to mix the concealer into an acne cream then dot it over pimples? I sometimes mix my EM powder in with my MSM cream and apply it to my face like a foundation. I agree that some concealers do accentuate spots and look cakey, I hate that!

I too suffer from extensive pigmentation and I usually use the concealer that comes with Sheer Cover. The only problem is I go through a lot of concealer as per foundation. I have not heard about Dermablend and would be interested in trying this. If I get hold of some I will do a review on B.H. The priceline shop nearest us (1.5 hours drive away) has closed so I will have to shop around and I will try eBay as Rebeccalife suggest. Good luck Leesa 36 and if you find a good cover let us know.
