Colouring hair – Sensitive scalp

I found a fantabulous colour to change my hair colour. My dilmema is my scalp is very sensitive and when my colourist patch tested me my skin was so sensitive it left red blotches.
His advice was to never colour my hair or find a natural product.

Does anyone know if there are natural hair colour products out there and if so where can one purchase them?

Hi , Maybe you could try something like Herbatint or Atlantis water colours? Health food shopes sometimes stock these. You will probably still have to do a patch test to be safe though.

Hi! My mum is severly allergic to hair dye too. And its not to the amonia. The trick is to only have your hair done in foils, as they dont touch the scalp (well they shouldnt, if they do then your hairdressers not doing it right) it just means for a full head change you need a full head of foils

also using a tipping/streaking cap might be an idea to as the dye doesnt touch the scalp and they can wash out the dye before removing the cap

but if you do choose to dye please please be very careful, your whole face can sweel up and your scalp will be red raw and weeping, and you will have to shave your head to be able to apply anysort of treatment to it

Try a henna from its is relatively inexpensive and the colour range not to mention the silkiness and gorgeous shine it leaves! I`ve experienced positive results using hennas on my sensitive scalp!
