Lovely topic…Just what i wanted….I being a frugal fashionista myself mostly tend to shop at Temt, Vallygirl,SES,@topshop,chicabooti(not sure of the spelling!) , cocolatte and online at forever 21.I also very rarely shop at dotti, forever new and sportsgirl.I alwys ike to own new trendy items so this helps me to be upto date while being within budget.
VG/Temt- For me they are both v.similar eventhough i prefer temt.Clothes have never fallen apart and it lasts atleast a couple of years if you be careful with the washing.”Please pay attention to the material i would never buy tops/t-shirts with v.thin materials from here.I have bought tops/skirts and outer wear from here.
Cocolatte-its a pity they dont have a branch in canberra.V.cheap when on sale and the quality is good.V.good for winter wear and cardis.They have a colourful range so if you like me dont like to stick to grey and black for winter, this place is for you.I stock up when i go to melbourne ( they have branches in melb central, knox and dandenong).
SES-this is my new found treasure.Again be careful and choosy with what you buy.Some of it is v.poor quality but if you look well and dig deep you can find some cute stuff for amazing prices.I recently picked up a black pea coat which i wear to work the tailoring was good but i gave a second stitching for the buttons.I also bought a tweed double breasted jacket for $30, good for work.
@topshop and Cickabooti- I checked them when i was in sydney at parramatta westfield.both have heaps of cheap looking clothes but there was a blazer for $15 and a top for $20 which were good.
Another place worthy of mentioning is paper scissors, looked good but the price is not justifiable because quality seem to be just like VG/temt.
I would never buy anything from ICE/tightrope ever.They are the most badly made clothes ever.It looks really cheap, the stitches are crooked and the quality of the outer wear is shocking .i saw a frilled trenchcoat at ice for $50 it looked appaling….
Forever 21 has mixed quality as well.the made in vietnam ones are of a poorer quality than the made in china ones.I bought 2 blazers which was worth the money ($23-$30 dollors).A flannel plaind shirt was good but another cotton shirt looked so different from the website and it came apart after the first wear(near the armhole and at the back).Sizing is very inconsistent.Im a Aus size 12 /10 i buy large from F21 but sometimes its not enough for me sometimes it is loosefitting.
Rubi shoes is worthy of mention.When on sale you can get cute stuff for as low as $10.Even though some of they get easily scratched etc i used a couple of those shoes for atleast 2/3 years.Their insole is not good it gives off a foul smell at times.
