Actually Daktarin is an antifungal – so it sounds like it was a fungal infection (not a bacterial one). Dry hands well after washing them may help.
mine were growing strangely too. i consulted my local G.P and he recommended Daktarin, it seemed to get rid of the bacteria that was affecting in and the weird part of the nail has now grown off.
