Bush Fires

Thinking of you all ♥ – I just don’t get these ratbags that deliberately light fires, can’t even begin to imagine what must be going through their brains when they perform these senseless and terrifying stunts. Hugs to you and your Grandad Gofton, and you too ima – thank goodness for the volunteer fireys 🙂

I hope all in bush fire communities down south are okay. Up here in North Queensland last night 11 irresponsible 18 years olds burnt my grandfather’s bush/mangrove property down to the ground. He has loved this property for over 50 years and he is 85, really cruel to do this to and old man. Mind you private property, no permission was granted. They decided to light up a wood stack and it got out of control. They didn’t call it in for at least half an hour. From 7pm until this morning the firies have been working their butts off and the fire has been contained and lucky it didn’t spread to the beach close by where there are residents. With all that is happening with the fires down south, I just don’t understand people’s mentality.

That is heart breaking for your Grandad Gofton. Hope they know the pain they’ve caused him & are charged.

We came home from a few days away yesterday to our suburb surrounded by bush fires which had been started by idiots (for want of a better word) who had torched a stolen car. Scary stuff! I know some residents who were evacuated and some who are very very lucky to still have their homes. Thank heavens for Rural Fire Fighters!!! Australia Day should be dedicated to volunteers like them.

I am thinking about all the people affected by the fires, I cannot do anything but offer my prayers and send my love.
In Victoria a man has lost his life, they found his body in a car. The fires are so savage and spare no one once the winds get up. The spot fires are just as deadly creating havoc as well.
The burnt suffering animals that survive, well I am sure they wished they hadn’t. It is cruel.
It is bad enough when fires are caused naturally but to have senseless idiots lighting fires, well I am lost for words.
I have been close to way to many fires for my liking living in Victoria.
My heart goes out to all that have been affected, I am definitely thinking of you.

I just looked outside and there is a fire plane flying around searching for fires.

I have been regularly checking my local ABC news page as it is being updated frequently, in case of any alerts being issued. We don’t have any radios at home, other than in the cars, so this is the other option.
