Brows not visible, tips, hints to get defined brow please

I have hardly any eyebrows, they are rather sparse an half of the hairs are blonde, half are dark brown,in a very random way.People think i have plucked them away! I get a lot of “do you pluck your OWN eyebrows?”
What is the best way to colour them to look normal? Should i use a pencil (which one?) OR get a tint.or something else.I have a friend who shaves hers off and draws them on and i think it looks really fake.So i am not doing that, i want it to just look like i have brows any hints, tips, products would be a great help, thanks! I have tried to draw them on before and they looked OK in the bathroom and then i went into the sun and they looked stupid.

I can concur with the mirenesse eyebrow gel, it is great! (and i’ve tried a few different brands)
I have the same blonde/brown thing with my eyebrows, and without the gel it looks like I have big gaps, it’s horrible!
$10 is for the mini-size (good for handbags!) the fullsize one is $32 but it lasts forever because you only use a tiny bit each time.

They have a special on at the moment where you get the mini eyebrow gel and a mini lipgloss for free (you have to pay $10 postage handling)

Mirenesse have an eyebrow gel that I swear by! It’s a lightweight formula that helps thicken and darken up the brows just enough.

It’s $10.95 and you can find it here http://www.mirenesse.com/catalogue/c7/c70/c104/p721

I find brow pencils too dark and can look fake in my experience, if your going for natural eyebrows i suggest going for a powder one.

Thanks all! A few things to try, a few things to buy. I didn’t know most of these products existed.I am hoping the L’oreal eyebrow pencil and the brow setting gel will fix my dilemma. The only brow pencil i ever tried to use gave horrendous results so i was always afraid to keep buying them, thanks ladies.

Oh speaking of hairspray – spraying your eyebrows with it also gives the appearance of thicker brows 🙂

Both of my eyebrows are very fair and have sparse hair, I’ve wondered if it is to do with waxing, but the hair is thinning out in the areas which are never waxed – and I’ve had the same waxer and eyebrow style for many years now.
However, to cope with it I always have them tinted at the same time they are waxed, and I use a blonde eyebrow pencil to colour them (feathering as Melmeko said) and extend the ends a little, and brush them into shape with a brow brush. A spritz of hairspray on the brush can also help to keep them in shape. Also try using a smudge of highlighter underneath your eyebrows at the ends – this can help to define them and make your brows look more prominent.

Feathering is the word I was thinking of when it comes to applying the light strokes 🙂

Hmm, I’d say brow pencil. or a matte neutral coloured eyeshadow and use small delicate strokes darkening them slightly at the outer bridge. You don’t want them looking unnatural! That’s why you use delicate fast strokes to make em blend in with your other brow hairs. A friend of mine uses the L’Oreal brow pencil she says they’re really great; why don’t you give it a try?

As a temp thing I would look into brown powders and pencils – but I would def go get them tinted at a beauty salon! They’ll choose a good colour for you, and then you might be able to take over doing it yourself eventually?

If you want a slightly permanent colour, you can get eyebrow hair dye kits at Priceline. Don’t use normal hair dye! These are specific to eyebrows so they don’t harm your eyes. This way you don’t have that “half blonde/half dark brown” thing going.

After that you can do what melmeko suggested, and can also try an eyeshadow that is very similar to your natural hair. Use an angled brush to put it on, making sure you’re not using a lot of eyeshadow.

You can set it by using Eyebrow Setting Gel (Estee Lauder and Almay make good ones) or you can just give it a quick spritz of hair spray or hair gel. If you feel uncomfortable applying hair spray you can use either an old eyebrow brush with hair spray and apply it that way, or clean out an old mascara wand.
