Breast feeding

I strongly believe that its the right of a baby to be breast fed from birth to at least one year of life. Its the most important baby care than anything else

I had emergency C-Sec after almost 14 hours of labour. I breast fed by baby after almost 16 hours. To my surprise, my baby attached to me by himself. It was like magic. I am still doing it and hoping to do it as long as I can. I started to express it for my husband to feed him at nights as he requested it. I don`t even have nipple problems. I will never judge anyone for C-sec or Feeding. Being at hospital gives us opportunity to meet other mums. Some Babies just don`t attach. Some of us won`t be able to provide milk for few days and we have unsettled babies. Its life-like hills and valleys. Address the problem find solution, relax and be happy. Its time to ENJOY.

I tried with my first daughter but it just wasn`t happening. I went to a lactation consultant but at the end of the day, it wasn`t meant to be. Once I let myself off the hook & fed her formula, we were both very happy & I could enjoy being a 1st time mum & not be so stressed. It took a lot for me to get to this point because it made me feel like a failure with so much pressure to breastfeed. My experience with my 2nd daughter was completely different. 12 months on & she had no intention of weaning & I have thoroughly enjoyed the closeness that breasfeeding has given us. I`ve seen the benefits of both breastfeeding and formula so at the end of the day, the best advice I can give is to do what is right for your individual circumstances.

I believe whatever makes you comfortable. If it was n`t a great experience then do what makes you feel good.

My breast feeding experience was horrible. I have strong genes for allergies and I desperately wanted to breastfeed to hopefully help minimise the possibility of my son getting any which is what research indicates. But after 3 months of mastitis, sore nipples and a skinny baby I gave up and went to formula. Needless to say I was and my baby was much better for it.
