When you get a brazilian you do 1 of 2 options – 1 you strip down completely from waist down. Another – they have paper disposable g-strings you put on backwards (I`ve done both, but personally do not see the point of the g-string it really covers nothing anyway!!).
.
To prepare – I would exfoliate for a few days leading up to the wax – just helps to prevent ingrowns.
.
You can choose how much you want off – generally a XXX brazilian – which I get – is everything off. However you can choose to leave a landing strip (just the strip of hair down the middle) or a shape! You can also choose an option they call extended g-string I think, where you`re left with a triangle of hair – it`s more extreme than a bikini wax – ie more hair taken off. But basically when you book your appoitnment you can talk to them about how much you want off.
.
It will hurt – there`s no denying it. What you can do to minimise this is not go in the week leading up to your period (your pain tolerance is at its lowest) – best time is straight after your period. It can also be helpful to pop a couple of nurofens half hour before the appointment to reduce the pain a little bit.
.
A few people, myself included have mentioned on this site that the first time is the worst – of course you don`t know what to expect, and you can be a bit red and sore for a few days after as it`s a bit of a shock to the system! Don`t worry, it will calm down!
.
Inbetween waxes you need to exfoliate and moisturise the area daily – your waxer will be able to recommend appropriate products to use.
.
Finally – go to someone recommended – there`s good and bad waxers out there – I have the best waxer ever right now – she`s fast, as gentle as you can be, and talks the whole way through to distract me! Hope I`ve helped – yell out if you have more questions.
