Boofy Hair ! How to tame it ?

I have very thick curly hair and cant stand boofy undefined curls but there just are not that many roducts that dont cost the earth but that do work, does anyone have any suggestions ?

Thanks for your advice ladies , I`ll give the leave in conditioners a go and hopefully be frizz free before I know it.

oh yeah, i`ve tried the rpr vitaliser too! it is pretty good, soft but defined effect.
