Blemishes that just won’t go away

It goes quite a while back, but I have a few pimples that just won’t go away. They’re not just normal pimples that are bumpy because I can get rid of them in a few days. These ones are flat and if you look closely, its more concave than flat. One of the pimples is a result of squeezing a previous pimple and is probably going to be a permanent scar. But the other 2 are just there for no reason. They’re both flat and red.
Does anyone know how to get rid of them? I have these 3 flat pimples for over half an year now and I’m desperate…

I agree with Eidolon. I have 2 scars on my left cheek from years back. I had my skin ipl`d last year which helped somewhat but sunscreen is what makes all the difference. I absolutely swear by SPF. The higher the better. I got this amazing L`Oreal suncreen from England which has SPF 50 and it`s quite fluid-y and matte so it gives me the required protection but doesn`t leave my face feeling greasy. And another thing, when I do squeeze a spot, I always get the root out be it a whitehead or blackhead because unless it`s out, the spot won`t heal properly. 3M have these amazing stickers for spots which seems to draw them to the surface and they`re absolutely brilliant. I got mine in Singapore but I`m sure you can find them at a pharmacy here too.

I have a similar problem and they do fade- it just takes very very long! Mine are slowly fading by applying rose hip oil religiously (it`s been 6 months and they`re still there although very small and almost unnoticable), exfoliating regularly, and basically offering skin the moisture and nutrients it needs to renew. You skin cycle lasts for a few months so it would take a while to renew those areas on your face. Also, do you wear make up or sunscreen? Try sunscreen with high levels of zinc oxide as it will offer optimum protection from the sun, and can act as a topical treatment for the acne.

If you are very concerned then you should get it checked out by you GP or specialist. No harm in playing it safe =)

Do you always go out in the sun? Do you expose yourself for a long time all the time when you do? It doesn`t sound like a pimple to me. I better not say anything to scare you but you should go get it checked out by a doctor. Meanwhile, WEAR LOADS OF SUNSCREEN! The sun can worsen it.

pink_panther, rosehip oil made a massive improvement to my acne scars. I still have tiny little pits, but hardly any redness. You do need to massage in quite firmly to break up the scar tissue.
I think I had some scars that sound like yours, from memory. I think you should be able to improve them. Good luck!

Are they around the eye? It may be milia but milias are bumpy and doesn`t go away.

these sound like they may be acne scars. You should go and see your doctor who can refer you to a reputable dermatologist. Take my advise: it`s important to see a professional who know what they are doing. Beware of salons who try and sell you this and try and get you to spend you money on treatments that don`t work. Good luck.

They sound like one of two things: post inflammatory pigmenation which is like a small coloured scar or solar keratosis which is caused from sun exposure. Either would benefit from low dose AHA`s and pigment fading products.
