Bikinis :) neck tie issue ?
hey girls,
just wondering if anyone else has the issue when they wear a bikini top, about the neck ties hurting !
i got one with a thick neck tie, which i thought would solve the issue but no luck there…is there a different way to tie it ?
or anything i can do ?
i have to go to a beach party and im wondering how to survive the night

Hey Pinkcoco! I know that neck tying issues are the worst and it makes you pretty uncomfortable and miserable. So the only solution is, buy a bikini with no strings i.e just like multi way halter neck styles by Dollboxx(https://www.dollboxx.com.au/collections/white-bikini) , bandeau bikini tops, they fit perfectly and suits any kind of body type. Plus they’re super comfortable and oh-so stylish! Go get going and make your swimwear experience less painful and more enjoyable.

Hey there! I always thought I was the only one dealing with this problem. But I got a pretty good solution on it. See rather than buying or wearing a bikini with such neck ties not only increases your pain but at the same time makes you uncomfortable. Better way is opt for halter style neck tying bikini and get rid of neck hurting due to those strings. I hope this helps!

I seriously thought I was the only one with this problem… I could never find a good solution to this until I got pregnant. I ended up buying a maternity swim suit (sounds attractive doesn’t it??) I think it’s called a tankini or something? Anyway, it actually looked good and the straps were just like normal bra straps and then I wore a rashie on top, since I’m not much for sun exposure anyway. Anyway, seemed to work great and actually looked decent enough :))
My daughter is almost 3 now and my boobs went down a size and it still hurts a lot to wear my other bikini with the halter neck strap. I do tie it in a knot rather than a bow and I try not to pull too hard but then the boobs hang down and it’s just horrible… So for me rashie is the way to go! Good sun protection and no one knows what’s underneath ;)) -

I get this too and I even get it with tie up halter neck dresses. Its annoying – I need to do the bow up so the sting is as long as possible (ie dont pull it tight) but the problem is that my boobs then hang out! If i pll it tight it feels like the weight of my boobs is pulling on my neck – but the thing is I don’t have big boobs – they are only a 10 B so they can’t be that heavy. I have found that a thicker strap is much more comfy than a thin one…though terrible for tan lines! I have this bikini from speedo:

and it is the most comfortable one i have worn – doesnt hurt nearly as much as thin straps. Plus i tie it in a knot rather than a bow. -

I know, it’s terrible, I suffer with it as well. The only way I can wear mine is to tie it in a really sloppy knot ( it has some fancy name but I’ve forgotten it) a lady at a little boutique showed me how to do it. So you could try going into speciality bikini/swimwear shops and ask for help!

Hi Pinkcoco. I know what you are talking about! I find some materials irritating and others are fine and comfy to wear as a ‘neck tie thing’. There is something I could suggest – if you have another bikini top with a ‘neck tie thing’ that comes off with those little hooks then you could swap them over and use the comfy one on the night you are going out – that is if the colours suit okay.
Otherwise you could buy another bikini top with a removeable necktie thing in the right colour/suitable colour and use the comfy one for the night. (A lot of places that sell bikinis like Myer, Baku, or other special bikini shops sell cozzy tops on their own without the bottoms.)
The only other thing is if you made one yourself – Spotlight/Lincraft usually stock all those little ‘hook’ things and you could buy a small amouth of soft, comfy material and create a good necktie thing. Or you may already have some material at home that you could use.
Hope this helps!
P.S. Just one other thing I’ve found with one brand is that the actual placement of the ‘hook holes’ on the bikini top was actually the problem – they were in a weird place and rubbed a lot as they were placed too close to under my arms! If this is the case with yours, you could attach some extra little ‘hook holes’ further along to where it suited you best.

Nope I dont know!! I can give suggestions of new bikinis, but not how to tie it :/
I bought a strapless one this year, and it has an attachable nexk halter thing which doesn’t hurt…
Maybe try something with a bra strap kind of thing??? Or with an underwire?
