Can anyone suggest a good longlasting eyeshadow to create a smoky eye?

Everday Minerals Fall collection is pretty good for a smokey eye. Theres a tad of periwinkle in them though I think, so its not exactly purely traditional smokey, but, good nonetheless 🙂

    Mscosmetics

I noticed the other day at Groove they had a whole stand just for NYX (weird because a few months ago they were clearing it out?) But they had a heap of stuff. You will find it cheaper on the net though. (as groove sells the e/s for around $9 each which is nearly 3 from anywhere else)
I`ve used Cherry culture due to the great sales they have but i find their service really hit and miss, really not a fan.
The Nyx website itself had a huge sale the other day but sometimes when they have them they don`t seem to ship intl` so ??
Oh there is another one i think mscuppycakes and oh i can`t remeber right now but she also sells mac pigment samples she was great! I hope i can remeber! HTH

oh and i really do love NYX its such great quality for the price i have a range of their products, I`m going to try the blush`s next, apparently they are fabulous!

I have to admit I`ve been loving using the Elizabeth Arden shadow in the Eyeshadow Duo in Pink Clover lately. I`m finding the darker colour of this duo absolutely addictive. I`ve been wearing it daily as a single colour all over the lid itself (but not the brow bone area!) and putting a bit over the top of my eyeliner and it`s really nice! Kind of is a smokey eye effect!

I`m not into shadows with shimmer and this is lovely almost doesn`t have any at all when you look at it in the palette. When I`ve got it on there is what I would call a virtually shimmerless eyeshadow. I`m loving this one!

(p.s. I received this as part of a gwp just recently at Myer.)

Oooh NYX – is that available in Australia (Melbourne) at all? I`ve been wanting to try out some of their stuff….will check out ebay though – thanks for reminding me of this brand Kay n Jay 🙂

Stila actually do talking Smokey Eye compacts, these are on the Sephora site but they are available in Oz too http://www.sephora.com/browse/product.jhtml?id=P173010.

Ohh i would completely recommend the NYX smoky palette if you are willing to wait and buy from Ebay. The pigmentation of the eyeshadows are amazing and was very cheap too, $13 including shipping with 10 eyeshadows.

I was impressed with the colours available in the Australis pallettes, considering the price I am sure they would do the job. I am now a big fan of mineral makeup as I am trying a bit more to avoid putting too much in the way of nasties on my skin, I think Everyday Minerals has a brilliant range of colours and it would not be hard to select the ones you need to create the smoky eye. Plus with the Australian dollar doing so well in the US they are so so cheap, so good pigmentation for such a good price you can`t really go wrong.

I second Bourjoir & Revlon for good blendable products that are very resonably priced & nicely pigmented. Have you loked at the Benefit smokey eye palette or even the too faced ones?
I`ve been eyeing off the benefit one for ages but can`t justify buying it and I love the too faced eye shadows – they are a favourite of mine 🙂

Maybelline quads are not bad, definitely good if you want to spend less.
