bad ebay buys / feedback?

hay girls, heres my story lol i got my 1st ever ebay buy in the post yesterday a loreal playball spray, i washed my hair that arvo cause i was dying to try it and to my surprise when i sprayed it in my hair i could hardly smell it, the spray a serum spray, smooth and hold, there is no shine to my hair either, so i smell it and it dont smell very strong at all, i sprayed it on my hands and to me it could b water!! it just dont feel/smell like a loreal product to me,

anyway so i havent done my feed back yet, i was just wondering if anyone has any advice or same sort of thing happen to them, i ve seen the threads on fake make up ect, im so new to ebay… what happens when you leave feedback? can they delete bad feed back…? im pretty angry about it and knew if i did the feedback now it may b a tad too rude lol

I buy natural skincare products on ebay (saw the comment from softness) but I always check out the previous feedback. Like softness I make a reason to email the seller and see the promptness and tone of the response. I also always leave feedback – if the product is different from the description I make sure I reflect this in their ‘star’ rating which is out of 5 and only leave basic feedback to reflect that I have received the product. Agree with all the comments to contact the seller – I have had to do this a couple of times and only had one issue where the seller never responded. Took me ages to trust the whole ebay thing but when it works it’s ok. the other thing I just remembered – if I find a store on ebay I google the name and if they have a website I use that – figure it’s better to buy from a ‘legitimate’ business…

recently i bought one of those iphone clones called the i68+ sci phone.. somefin like that for around $80 AU.. i am also new to ebay .. and man do i regret buying that crap thing.. its one of those cheap mobile with the worst camera and songs dont even play properly they keep stopping and going back to the start…They said it only takes 2G sim from telestra optus and vodaphone.. i ve tried optus and telestra sim they didnt work so i am yet to try vodaphone..it only had like 800 kB space so i had to purchase extra 2GB for $20.. it was all a ripp off.. i learnt my lesson to not to go on ebay..

Yeah contact the seller before leaving bad feedback, usually they’ll do their best to accommodate you. If not you’ll leave a huge blemish on their ebay record 😀

All the above suggestions are spot on! Firstly i’d suggest going and checking what the product should be like (can you test one in store?) If you then feel that what you received isn’t the right (real) item i would contact the seller and see what they can do, they may offer you another one, refund etc. If the seller has a good feedback and ratings history then theres every chance if the product isn’t right that they didn’t know that when selling/posting it to you. From my experience i never leave negative feedback before trying to contact and resolve the matter with the seller first, it has meant that i’ve waited a week or two at times for contact to be returned but has always ended up resolving the matter in a mutually positive way. Good Luck Allyfox 🙂

Just one thing before you contact the seller, you should check out what the product should actually look and smell like so you have all the details spot on before you tell them you believe it is not what it is meant to be. It would save any embarressment and you can then fully justify your story 🙂

That’s horrible Allyfox – I know how it feels to be ripped off on ebay! I know most sellers are very good but unfortunately there are a bunch of baddies too. I don’t buy certain products now on ebay, as I’ve learned they can be faked. (I purchased some Lancome products a couple of years ago thinking they were a great bargain at $90 and nope, just fakies! I had to basically just call it a loss 🙁 I know it feels yucky – it took me a while to get over it! It’s not just the loss of money but also the fact that someone did something nasty and sent me fakes! But I have got ‘over it’, and I’m wiser now!!!

I very rarely purchase anything at all off ebay now but if I do, I check out the seller fully and contact them to see if they contact me back promptly & nicely etc etc before I purchase.. I certainly would never buy skincare any more off ebay because of the fact that I did get burnt once. Take care!
