Avalon Organics

Has anyone tried Avalon Organics? I found this product in a healthfood shop in the UK recently and had not heard of it previously. The facial cleansers and moisturisers are lovely and well suited to my combination skin. Having a bit of an ethical dilemma on where to purchase them from though, I like to buy in Oz to help our economy here but have found a US site selling it for a quarter of the price – I think I may have to put my morals aside and make a purchase shortly!!

The Vit C cream is my favourite! You can buy the range much cheaper from the US if you use http://www.iherb.com.au Postage is $4.00 if you keep the weight under 3 pounds too!

Yep – I have a heap of the Avalon products, some of which I grabbed when Priceline deleted the range, some from Ozsale this month. I have the Vit C cream, serum, eye-cream, face wash and toner – the serum is by far my fave. I also have the Q-10 facewash and a couple of the shampoos, which I haven’t started to use yet.

The Vit C day cream in the tub (I think this is the one you’re talking about?) is quite rich, I find it a bit too much for my oily skin so it might be perfect for you. Make-up doesn’t stay on very well unless I use a mattifier and an oil-absorbing powder, which is ok some days but I usually don’t have time! I’m actually using it as a hand & neck cream, which works much better for me.

    Bumppp! 🙂

Who uses the Vitamin C Cream from this brand? I’m looking into getting it as my next moisturiser as my skin’s drying out a bit at the moment due to my moisturiser w/ salicylic acid in it. Would love to hear reviews…and opinions on whether it’s suitable for dry/acne prone skin xxx

Digging up a bit of an old thread. Try Go Vita. My local Mr Vitamins (which I understand is like Go Vita’s discount megastore) had nearly every Avalon Organics product that is listed on the offical AO site (except for the lipbalms, couldn’t find those).

I even managed to find the Shave Cream there.
Also Priceline has a small (they stock about 10 products) section of Avalon Organics. I’ve seen lots of positive reviews for their products online and they’re a bit cheaper than similar brands, especially their shampoos and things (much cheaper than Alchemy and seem to work just as well).

Avalone Organics have been around for at least 10 years in Australia. If you want to go organic I am all for it. I guess it is what weighs most on your mind organic or supporting Aussie made products.

I personally only use certified organic and really love Sanctum, like you I have combination skin.

    Cheers

    Hi Flower123

I have not heard of Avalon Organics. Although many of BH’s members would rather support Australia, and have commented on this issue in several forum threads, we think it is best to purchase products overseas at a much cheaper price. If you can buy the products you want at a quarter of the price here, I say snap it up!

In any event, we keep Australia Post employees and other courier services in business by buying from overseas online, so don’t feel too bad about it. Aussies deliver our beauty finds to us and online shopping keeps many people in jobs.

At some stage, the Aussie dollar will dip again and we won’t be able to get such good bargains, but in the meantime, go for it. x
