asking for beauty samples.

Good evening beauties!!!

I need a new foundation, but my skin is senstitive to some foundations. I was thinking of asking at NP, priceline, DJs etc for some samples to try before i buy. (sachets etc so i can spot test)

. I am going to say something along the lines of:

Hi. I need a new foundation, and I am wondering whether you have any samples that I can try before I buy? I have sensitive skin that doesn’t agree to some foundations.

Sound ok?? Have you done this before?? What were your results??

Nite, nite…

The other day i went to Glo cosmetics (dunno if you guys have that but we do in tasmania) and they were really helpful, trying on foundation on my face and they didn`t make me feel as though I had to buy anything at all like some places do after you have tried it.

I still with you Mel, I dislike being asked “”can i help you”” i feel like saying “”if i wanted help i would ask for it””, I live in geelong so i have heaps of shopping centers at hand, but theres nothing like a QUITE shop.

Of course you can take your own pots in! If they have testers available – they`re there to be tested! Particularly with makeup etc. My beauty salon does it – they normally actually have sample pots there themselves, but if they`ve run out before they`ve just told me to take some in.

It is hard when they don`t want to part with the samples, LOL.

I think it`s more if they aren`t making sales but giving away samples they`re seen badly in the eyes of their boss. They`re sort of like car salesmen: sure they`ll give you that free cup of coffee, but they expect you to buy a car!

don`t feel like a scab no matter how they treat you. It`s your right to take a sample. If they make you uncomfortable just pretend that you`ll buy a product in their range, but need time to see how the sample performs. You`re in the right! don`t let them treat you that way.

LOL Sure of it, comming back to my first comment of making us feel like scabs, hehe. The samples must be their expense or something, lol, I am sure the companies they work for can afford to give away a lousy sample if they want to promote their products. 🙂

they get annoyed because the SAs hope that by going to get the sample, you`ll be interested in other product lines and eventually buy something. If you buy something every now and then, they`ll be more than happy to give you samples even when you haven`t asked.

    sometimes they`re just plain bitchy!

Nah personally I don`t like help when I am shopping for beauty products and if I do then and only then will I ask. SA`s bug the life out of me, and half the time they don`t care about you they are only interested in getting a sale. Normally by the time I have decided on what product I want I have already studied it on the internet and know everything I need to about the product so all I want is to be able to try the product out.
The other senario is when you go into a store with a voucher printed out that has been emailed to you, an offer of a mini or sample sized product to redeem in store. I don`t see why it should be so hard to just give these out if the customer has the voucher that entitles them to it???
