Perfume will eventually smell nasty but I`ve heard refigerating the open bottles will extend their life 🙂

I have lost so many bottles `saving` them for good……not anymore, i don`t save anything for good !
good tips about the `cool, dry place` for storing 🙂

  • Usually perfume doesn`t age as it`s not really perfume but rather an eau de toilette or eau de parfum which is basically diluted perfume. If you want something that stays strong for more than a couple of years you`re better off buying a Parfum which is perfume concentrate. They usually come in small 30ml bottles and are really expensive but you only need to dab them on to smell great as opposed to 2 or 3 sprays which only last half a day.

I must say, I have perfumes that are more than 5 years old, but still smell muich as they did at the start. I`ve always kept them out of sunlight.

    Hey Tash,
A tip with perfume is to keep it in a cool and dry place for the duration of its life. This will keep the fragrance fresh and ensure it stays the same from beginning – to end.
If it starts to smell funny (as my beloved Britney Curious fragrance didi after I left it in the sunlight for a few month), the only thing you can do it to throw it out 🙁

Def don`t try and `age` your perfume – it will go off and smell horrible! Best thing for perfume is to store in a dark place as the sun can also affect the perfume.

Nope it is exactly the opposite…Fragrance does not get better with age… It has a recommended shelf life of 3-5 years… But even less for Pure Perfume.Good thing is, that at least you know when its no longer good.. Well the nose knows!

Like other things parfums go bad after certain time. It will smell bad and will sting your skin when you apply it. So stick to wine if you like old things. 🙂
