Just when you thought summer was over and you could bring out your tights and put your bare skin under some light layers, out comes the autumn sun and throws a really annoying spanner into the works. If you’re anything like me, you probably thought exposed skin was a thing of the past, so not only had you allowed your legs to get hairy, but chances are you hadn’t been as diligent with your fake tanning either.

Well I’ve got news for you beauties; autumn is full of surprise sunshine so it’s more important than ever to keep on top of your fake tanning. After all, you never know what kind of weather the next day is going to bring (and who on earth has time to fake tan before work??).

One fake tanning brand we love is Custom Tan, as the tanners in the range are specially formulated to adapt to the pigments in your skin and create a customised colour for your skin tone (bye-bye oompa-loompa orange!). Custom Tan products are also made with Eco-Certified organic ingredients, and are proven to go on quicker, achieve a deeper colour, and last longer than tanners containing DHA or erythulose.

If you’re going to DIY, we definitely recommend using the Custom Tan Tan Blending Mitt, as it helps you to blend your tan for a flawless finish and also ensures that you don’t get fake-tan-stained hands (super important!). As for the actual tanning product, we like the Custom Tan Rich Self Tanning and Instant Bronze Mousse as it provides an instant bronze colour (allowing you to see where you’ve applied your fake tan), doesn’t leave a tell-tale fake tanning smell, and also contains essential nutrients to leave your skin soft and hydrated.

For those of you who don’t trust your own skills when it comes to fake tanning, head in-salon and ask for a Custom Tan 2 Hour Regular Spray Tan Solution. It’s formulated with a violet base to get rid of any orange tones, and develops in just two hours – so you can shower and be out the door with a natural-looking glow in no time at all!
