In case you missed it, Zoë Foster Blake hit the red carpet this week in support of husband Hamish for the AACTA Awards. And boy, did she nail her hair and makeup look.

With a slick high bun and crisp winged eyeliner, the author and beauty expert was serving ‘60s Italian vixen, as conceptualised by makeup artist Heidi Scarlett King.

Dying to know the exact liquid liner used? Or how such luminous skin was created?

Heidi was kind enough to share the details with beautyheaven and you can now consider our party season look officially sorted…

Zoë Foster Blake’s AACTA hair and makeup details

The eyeliner

Let’s start with the statement wing. Heidi used a liquid liner from M.A.C and a Kiko Milano gel under the lash line. As for the technique, she says it all comes down to the clean-up.

“[The] key for any liner work is not how you apply but how you clean up and correct it symmetrically,” she shares.

Her recommendation is to use fine tip cotton tips or an angle brush with makeup remover for the sharpest line.

  • Kiko Milano Lasting Gel Eyeliner, $41.40 via Amazon UK (delivers to Australia)

The skin

Aside from having an excellent canvas to start with (Zoë prepped her skin with the Go-To Transformazing Mask), Heidi says the secret to her signature glow is serious hydration, luminous primers in the right places and a sheer-to-medium finish foundation.

Also, cream trumps powder. “It’s a ‘no baking zone’ for me with skin as it can really make gorgeous young skin look so old and flat,” says Heidi. “Another key thing that I’ve always used is cream products and not powder, which also enhances the glow.”

The brows

If you managed to tear your eyes away from her eyeliner, you’ll have also noticed how incredible Zoë’s brows looked.

“I feathered the brows with a M.A.C brow pen and filled in gaps with a coloured brow gel too,” shares Heidi.

The sleek bun

Heidi was also responsible for the stunning slicked-back bun Zoë was sporting.

Her secret to such smoothness? “I used a combination of glossy gel and firm hairspray,” she tells us, sharing that she also wrapped the hair around a hair sponge to create the bun.
