Braces…

I currently have braces and am due to get them off soon but am finding them particularly hard to clean but I’m thinking it’s because I’ve gotten used to them and I’m not as thorough as before. Does anyone have an tips or suggestions to keep them looking nice? Actually anything to do with braces would be great!

What’s the price difference between Invisalign and braces? I’ve thought about getting braces recently but I don’t know how I would feel about it as an adult.

My orthodontist gave me special floss that had a hard tip on the end, kind of like the cap on the end of a shoelace I guess, that made it easier to thread through the braces and floss. Other than that, I brushed after meals and avoided foods that got stuck. I probably got a little lax with cleaning the longer I had them, but I don’t remember them ever not looking nice. They’ll feel so weird when you do get them removed – I kept running my tongue over my teeth because they felt like they were missing!

Ahhh braces, how I don’t miss those! It is the best confidence boost the day you get them off, so look forward to that!
My orthodontist had plenty of tips for me on cleaning, mainly just prevent it and stay away from sticky or stringy food! I remember I used to have a tiny little brush, kind of similar to a mascara wand I guess, and I used that to get in and around the braces. I think I used a similar device as a floss too, because of the braces it’s impossible to floss normally so you use that. That and a toothbrush should be enough to keep them fairly clean.
Mouthwash could be another option? Although I’m not a huge fan of mouthwash.
