A lesson learnt

A lesson learnt

Over the years I’ve learnt that there are some things that just can’t be left at home. I’ve been caught out one too many times wishing I had the foresight and intelligence to keep certain items in my bag.

Like the time I was at a concert and I got something in my eye. Being a contact lens wearer, I can’ t just rub away and hope for the best. That just ends up in a bloodshot eye, with an eye lid so swollen I look like I’ve been punched in the face. No, I needed eye drops, which I didn’t have with me so I spent the night in extreme discomfort. Lesson number one learnt.

Then there was the time I went to a wedding in brand-new-never-been-worn-before heels. After an hour of standing and dancing, my feet were wrecked, and my skin had been rubbed raw. But did I think to bring Band-Aids? No, I had to suffer in silence.  Never again I said, and thus this became essential lesson number two.

Of course nowadays Band-Aids and eye drops are just two of the ultimate essentials that will always have a place on my bag. Add to the list Manicare Flat Tweezers: there is nothing worse than staring in your car rear view mirror, seeing all the stray hairs and knowing there is nothing to be done about them; MAC Studio Finished Concealer – helps cover up any unwanted blemishes that pop out from nowhere. And where would I be without my Endota Spa Organic Cinnamon and Honey Lip Balm?
