I wanted to try one of the Rimmel Matte lipsticks to compare to the Maybelline Matte lipsticks to see which one I prefer. I chose the color 'High Flyer' (610) because it was the nude pink to wear everyday and also was the closest to Maybelline 'Almond Rose' (565) which I have been wearing for a while. Firstly, I'm not a fan of the packaging of this product, I find the look of the lipstick with the Rimmel crown on top a bit tacky, however, if its cheaper to do it this way, I'm all for it because I'd rather pay more for the product than the packaging. The color is slightly deeper in tone to the Maybelline and also more mattifying. It last longer than the Maybelline cream matte but will transfer and while the staying power is better than Maybelline, it will come off on your cup or glass with drinking - yuk. However, this lipstick leaves a nice even stain on my lips at the end of the day that is more noticeable than the Maybelline which is a plus, but this may be due to being a slightly deeper shade. I doesn't dry out the lips, and doesn't bleed or feather and I don't need a lip liner. Now that I know this one is better, I will try more shades.

I received this as a freebie from Priceline so thought I would try it out. I wear an SPF50 under my foundation everyday during the warmer season but this one didn't work out. Everytime I applied it, it pilled on my face when I rubbed it in. I tried patting it on, but it pilled again when I put my foundation over it. It may be due to the amount of Nicotinamide that's in the formula, my skin can only handle a one drop of Niacin. I so disappointed that this wasn't working for me.

I love this mascara! I always go for waterproof mascaras and had just finished the Mega Falsies mascara which was okay, but tended to dry too quickly. I love that this mascara is wetter than the others which gives you more time to feather the lashes out. I got this in Blackest Black and I also love the flexible wand that seem assist with the feathering out the product. Unlike other brands I had used, this does not fall on the skin at the end of the day, in fact its you do need a heavy duty remover to get this off. Its a great price and the usual no-fuss packaging which is great ( I'd rather pay for product rather than packaging).

I purchased the 15ml 72Hr Moisture Surge Hydrator from Mecca Maxima because I was curious if indeed it provided 3 days or hydration. Sadly, i found that it is no different than the previous version, the Moisture Surge Thirsty Relief. It has the same thin gel texture and jar packaging which I have never been a fan of and this one has no scent which is a plus for me. Unfortunately, just like the previous version this does only hydrated the skin until you wash it off which was disappointing. I'm glad I only bought the small jar. I think I will stick to my low molecular Hyaluronic acids for middle layer hydration and pass this one on.

I used to wear this foundation a lot because of the rave reviews it had been getting particularly for oily skin. This first thing I noticed was that it was thick and you have to work quickly. Applying with a brush was too streaky and applying with a blender meant more layers so I found the best application was with the fingers, then go over with a damp blender to even it out. I did notice settling in the smile lines and it pulled away either side of the nostrils, but I kept using it because it did last all day and was I fairly shine free at the end of the day. The main issue I had with this foundation is that it felt thick in my skin but it was winter and I didn't mind it so much, but by summer with heat and oil coming through, I could no longer bear it. I just couldn't wait to get it off at the end of the day. I do see the benefits of this full coverage foundation, but prefer something more breathable in summer for a more natural look.

This is my go to primer that I have been using for years. Its not a pore-filling formular but it does make the pores less visible and helps keeps my makeup stay where I put it at the beginning of the day. It works really well under the Nars Sheer glow foundation to stop the oils from getting though and it doesn't make the foundation cake up. Its so affordable and I think its comparable to higher end primers that do the same job. This does a great job at keeping my face from looking greasy at the after 8 hours without drying out my skin. Highly recommended.

I was looking for a matte nude lipstick to wear at work and I was really pleased that I found the Maybelline Cream Matte. I bought #565 Almond Rose. The formula is a cream that does not dry but the finish is rather a soft matte rather than a true matte. This is fine with me because it does keep my lips hydrated throughout the day and if I need a more matte look, I simply put the Smashbox mattifier over the top. The colour is not long lasting, but it does wear evenly during the day (no cracking, or spreading to the lip line), and leaves a nice stain at the end of the day. Re-application is so easy I don't even need a mirror. Its lightly scented that is not unpleasant, but you cant smell it when your wearing it. The color is the a perfect pink-nude for my brown skin tone.

I had previously tried another brand with the twist wand that work ok, but I thought this brand would be better. I use this for my eye brows. Firstly, the wax is not sticky enough to stick to the hairs. Secondly, unlike cloth strips, the strips that you apply over the wax, have a strange smooth coating which didn't stick to the wax! So I'm left with wax still sitting on my brow line after I have ripped it off. I tried several times but in the end had to was off the wax with soapy water. Very disappointing, I do not recommend this product.

I was excited when I came across this product. I hate straightening my hair everyday and John Frieda has good reputation so I thought I would give it a go. It claims to keep hair straight for 3 days so I sprayed it on damp hair, blow dried my hair then straightened. The next day, my hair had some waves in it that I usually get the next day after I straighten my hair. So this time I used it on damp hair and applied it a second time once my hair was dry before I used the hot iron. The next day was straighter than when I use one application but I still had to run an iron through it. Using it a second time also weighs the hair down. So now I just use it for heat protection and frizz control. Its a good product but not great and didn't keep my hair straight for 3 days.

I prefer this makeup wipe because it removes my water proof mascara without having to rub my eyes raw. It also does a reasonable job at getting my matte lipstick off and is better than other brands at removing my eyeliner. Like most Garnier products, it is scented which I am not too fussed about because I cleanse afterward anyway. So far, I found this to be the better than other make-up wipes
