I was fortunate enough to trial both the shampoo and conditioner from Tresemmes Volume and Fullness line for just over two weeks. The shampoo is really great and excellent value for money. It does a satisfying job of lathering up without stripping my hair and smells just like a hair salon. A little goes a long way and with the generous amount of product this will last a considerable time. I didn’t find my hair to have any extra volume or fullness after use, but that is usually due to the conditioner not the shampoo. My hair was less frizzy and straighter after using the line, my husband’s hair (coarse and curly) was softer both in texture and curl so I would definitely recommend this to anyone who has curly hair that they are trying to tame.

Over the course of two weeks I tried the Conditioner and Shampoo from the Tresemme Volume and Fullness line. After the first use I found my hair was less frizzy, very smooth and silky. My hair stayed very straight (it can sometimes wave or curl) after using the conditioner so I found that the volume and fullness of my hair was not improved. My husband, who has coarse, curly hair found that his hair had significantly more volume than before. The best thing about the line is the scent, which smells exactly like a hair salon. I also appreciate that it comes in a big bottle with a solid pump.

The Dr Roebuck’s Barrier Reef Daily Mineral Sunscreen is amongst the best mineral sunscreens I have used (many) and I will repurchase. It has a thick consistency, typical of zinc-based sunscreens and is white upon immediate application. However, it blends into the skin beautifully and on my light-medium skin it does not leave any white caste. Testing it on my husbands dark skin, it did leave a very slight white caste, but it was significantly less white caste than any other mineral sunscreen of SPF50 I have tried on him. It layers really well under my makeup and didn’t interfere with the application of any other products. Excellent mineral sunscreen that I highly recommend to anyone looking for a zinc based sunscreen.

I really enjoyed the formulation of the Manicare Nail Polish Remover Dip but found the dip mechanism to problematic. The material in the tub is a pre-soaked sponge which you rub your nails across to remove the polish. It worked effectively to removed standard crème nail polishes but it was a struggle to remove anything with glitter. Also, not being able to see your nail while removing polish off of it means its difficult to know which area of your nail still has polish remaining on it. I found myself tipping the liquid out of the tub and onto cotton rounds to remove my polish because the dip mechanism was ineffective to use.

The Revitanail Total Strength 8-in-1 Nail Treatment worked well to strengthen my nails and acted well as a base coat to my nails. My nails easily flake and tend to be brittle, often tearing off. this treatment worked to stop them from flaking off rather quickly (as I only trialled the products for a few). The brittleness of my nails was slightly improved, and I will be interested to see what difference it will make over time. The product dries down quickly and the scent is not overpowering. As a basecoat it works well because it leaves behind a slightly rough base however it was not as good as the stand-alone topcoat I use.

Great! Does what it says on the pack, long-lasting hydration provided by a gel-like cream that is neither oily or sticky. The tub is very beautiful and feels well weighted in the hand (however, refills would be great!), the light pink gel-cream has a very subtle fresh scent and absorbs into the skin easily. This makes it ideal of layering with oils, underneath sunscreen and/or makeup. Nutrient rich, with hyaluronic acid and antioxidants, it works to draw water into the skin for very long lasting hydration.

The Trilogy AHA Resurfacing Serum is an effective exfoliating serum with leaves the skin glowy and renewed. The serum is lightweight and easily absorbed but I found the fragrance of rose oil to be quiet overpowering which made the experience less enjoyable for me. The results, however, were great. The combination of exfoliation, antioxidation and hydration provided by the ingredients in the AHA Resurfacing Serum really made my skin look beautifully refreshed. Overall, I would recommend this product to anyone looking for effective and cost-effective skincare but if you are sensitive to rose it may not be the product for you.

The Burt’s Bees Lip Shimmer is a thicker lip balm with a slight shimmer. I trailed the shade Peony which was a natural looking rosy nude. The balm is very moisturising and lasts a long time on the lips due to the waxier nature of the balm. Sometimes tinted balms can slip on my mouth and I end up with a tint outside of my lip line, however the Burt’s Bees Lip shimmer stayed on my lips without bleeding. Unfortunately, I found the shimmer to migrate overtime and settle into the lines of my lips. Despite this, the formulation was very enjoyable and I would love to try a version without the shimmer.

I am so impressed with the Dr Naomi Catfish eye cream, it delivered on its ability to treat the eye area while instantly smoothing out lines with silicones. I was sceptical that the skincare would be beneficial in such a silicone rich formula, but it worked fantastically for me. I have some fine lines and deep-set dark circles under my eyes which both seem to improve over the days that I used the cream. Especially great before makeup, which is how I primarily used the cream, it sat beautifully, acting as an undereye primer. None of my products (and there is a few) pilled or misbehaved on top of the cream. This is one of the best eye creams that I have used, for anyone who wants to address line and circles before makeup this is a fantastic product to use.

Another beautiful product by Synergie Skin, the LumiBalance facial oil contains a mixture of oils with active ingredients to smooth and hydrate skin. I very much enjoy the simple packaging of the Synergie Skin line, especially the slightly frosted glass bottle, everything down to the packaging of the products has been expertly thought out with the user in mind. The oil is lightweight with a very slight scent of oil, primarily olive. You only need a few drops to cover the whole face, I used this at the end of my skincare routine (37 years old with well behaved, combination skin) and found it to hydrate the dryer areas while not clogging the oily areas. It absorbed very easily into my skin, which is not the case with many oils. My skin looked well-nourished after use, however I believe that the Rosemary Oil may have caused a little patch of cystic acne on my face. My skin is not usually sensitive so just be aware that if you do have sensitivity to Rosemary Oil, this may not be the product for you.
