Having tried 11 over the last 6 months, Loreal Base Magique is now my go to product for visible pore reduction & line smoothing. Although the product is thick, it is probably necessary to effectively fill fine lines, which it does better than any other product I've used. It is the only primer I use now as it is so effective for filling & blurring. Nothing else (short of injectibles) works as well on the fine lines on my upper lip, and the effect lasts all day with no reapplication or touch ups required. I'm 57 with some sun damage & a history of on/off smoking & a period of heavy drinking (for 5 years) in my late 30s. Considering my history, the facial skin is holding up well but there is no escaping the ageing process. I often use Base Magique on it's own without makeup as it gives a natural looking, improved texture finish with way less visible lines & pores. It also locks in hydration so your skin stays fresh looking all day. When I do wear foundation, I feel like a million bucks. The foundation slides on easily and the primer stays in place without being compromised. Last time I wore makeup (after primimg), 2 of my close friends noticed a difference & asked if I'd had a procedure on the upper lip as the lines appeared to be so diminished. I told them about Base Magique and the older friend (60yo) was impressed enough to purchased a jar for herself the next day! Given that Loreal Base Magique actually delivers on its promise to minimise visible pores/lines/wrinkles, it is competitively priced and affordable.
