Manicare Brush Cleaner

Reviewers

20 females aged between 16-40 of all skin types (particularly oily and pimple-prone), who use brushes to apply their make-up. After using brushes to apply their make-up, the members were told to spray the formula onto a tissue and gently wipe their brushes before leaving them to dry. For dirtier brushes, they were advised to rinse the brushes with some water after spraying, then squeeze out the moisture, reshape and allow to dry. For the second method, Manicare recommended they minimise how much water filtered down into the handle of the brushes, as this can loosen the glue holding the bristles together, causing them to shed.

beautyheaven says…

, Manicare Brush Cleaner is a spray formulated to cleanse natural and synthetic make-up brushes. It’s recommended for use once per week for a hygienic and thorough clean. Nearly all of the testers thought the spray was quick and easy to use. Most were pleased with the result, commenting on how effective it was at cleaning their brushes and therefore preventing breakouts. Some of our members thought the scent was quite strong, but most felt it wasn’t overwhelming.   , You say: , “Being a make-up artist, clean brushes are a must! I have tried a number of different cleaners, some high-end and others not, and this is by far one of the best I have used. The spray is so easy to use (I have used some gel ones that can get a bit messy! I did need to use a few more sprays than recommend to achieve the level of cleanliness I desired, especially on my eyeliner brush. But other than that, I cannot fault this cleaner.” – Miss_Bella_Boo. Read more “You spritz onto a tissue and then gently wipe your brushes. I was quite mortified at the amount of gunk that came off my brushes, particularly my foundation brushes. I started with an old one to see just how well the cleaner worked, and now the brush looks like new! I’m very happy to have been selected for this trial, as now I can see the difference between a simple soap wash and an actual brush cleaner. There is no comparison.” – Emma Ocean.  Read more “There are no bells and whistles for this brush cleaner. It does what it states with no fuss. With the pump, spray application is easy. Spray the cleaner onto a tissue and then wipe onto your brush. For deep set make-up in my bronzer brush, I left it on longer than 30 seconds and then rinsed it out. The only downside to this product is the chemical smell. I found that my breakouts were less regular when using this cleaner. It’s so easy to use and is now part of my regular weekly routine.” – JSomara. Read more “I would recommend this product to keep your skin blemish-free.” – Cosmetics queen1.  “I have used brush cleaners before and I’m pleased to say Manicare Brush Cleaner ranks up there with the best. It’s very affordable compared with some others I have tried and does a fantastic job. Yes, it does have a strong fragrance because its main ingredient is isopropyl alcohol, which is similar to many other cleaning sprays I have tried. But that is what keeps the brushes hygienically clean, so the smell doesn’t bother me much. It dissipates fairly quickly, anyway.” – Jess84. Read more  “It is so easy to use. I just spray a bit on tissue and wipe my brush gently to remove some of my old foundation/powder. After wiping the brush and waiting a bit for it to dry, it was ready to be used again. Overall, the cleaner is a must-have for anyone who uses their make-up brushes daily to ensure that they remain hygienic and clean as possible. I would still recommend washing the brush properly every so often but this product will help to keep your brushes cleaner for longer.’” – annibaby.
