Garnier Pure Active Intensive Charcoal 3-in-1 Trial Team
Fifty females aged 18-34 with oily to combination skin, who were prone to imperfections, blackheads and pimples.
The product is formulated to be used as a cleanser, scrub or mask, depending on your skin care needs. For the purposes of the trial, the members were asked to use the product each of the three different ways at least once.
To use it as a wash or a scrub, the product should be applied daily as the first step in the skin care regimen. To use it as a mask, it should be applied 2-3 times per week.
The triallers were instructed to apply to formula to the entire face, taking care to avoid the eye area. They were also informed that for more sensitive skin types, overuse may cause localised redness ( (in which case, it is best to reduce the frequency of use).

Garnier Pure Active Intensive Charcoal 3-in-1 is a recent addition to the Garnier Pure Active range, which is designed for those with stubborn pimples and blackheads. The product has a multipurpose formula that can be used as a wash, scrub or mask, for an intense, deep cleanse.
The formula is enriched with charcoal, an ingredient which helps absorb oil and impurities, neutralise shine and leave skin feeling comfortable and smooth. It also contains salicylic acid to remove dirt and impurities, natural exfoliating particles to unclog pores, and blueberry extract to promote clear, balanced skin.
The majority of triallers felt the product had a positive, purifying effect on their skin. They enjoyed the fact that they could use it as a cleanser, scrub and mask - although some noted they found it difficult to use as a cleanser, without accidently scrubbing their skin. Most members found that when using the product as a scrub, the formula’s exfoliating properties thoroughly exfoliated their skin, without being too harsh. The majority also felt that as a mask, the formula was effective at removing blackheads, impurities and excess oil, and left their skin looking clear and smooth.
Some of the triallers noted that the formula could be a bit messy and difficult to remove, especially when using it as a mask. For this reason, several reviewers recommended removing the product in the shower, rather than at a wash basin. A few also found that the product left their skin feeling slightly tight, but that this could be fixed with their usual moisturiser.
