Fifty females aged 18-34 with oily to combination skin, who were prone to imperfections, blackheads and pimples.

The product is formulated to be used as a cleanser, scrub or mask, depending on your skin care needs. For the purposes of the trial, the members were asked to use the product each of the three different ways at least once.

To use it as a wash or a scrub, the product should be applied daily as the first step in the skin care regimen. To use it as a mask, it should be applied 2-3 times per week.

The triallers were instructed to apply to formula to the entire face, taking care to avoid the eye area. They were also informed that for more sensitive skin types, overuse may cause localised redness (in which case, it is best to reduce the frequency of use).

Garnier Pure Active 3-in-1 Wash, Scrub and Mask is an original formula from the Garnier Pure Active range. The product is multipurpose and can be used as a wash, scrub or mask. It is recommended for those who have oily to combination skin that is prone to imperfections, and who want an everyday product for visibly clearer skin.

The formula is enriched with white clay, which helps to absorb excess oil, and mattify and smooth the skin. It also contains eucalyptus and salicylic acid, which help to remove excess oil and daw out impurities, for clearer skin.

The majority of triallers enjoyed the fact that they could use the product as a cleanser, scrub and mask - although several noted that they experienced superior results when they used it as a mask in particular. Many reviewers felt the product helped clear their imperfections and smooth their skin, as well as control their skin’s oil production, for a more matte complexion. Most also enjoyed the formula’s cooling sensation on their skin, as well as its fresh, botanical scent.

“I [usually] have a really oily T-zone, but after applying this product, I could instantly feel the difference in my skin. When I used it every two days, I found that my skin continued to improve, with any breakouts cleared away almost instantly. This really is an oily skin saviour, especially with the white clay, which helps to mattify the skin. I am going to keep this product in my regular skin care routine.”

“I used it every three days as a mask and loved it. Only a very small amount is needed, as a little goes a long way. When I started using it, I had a few pimples here and there and I credit this product for clearing them up! As someone with oily skin, I loved the tingly clean feeling. I will definitely be purchasing this product again.”

“I would prefer to use a regular cleanser for the purpose of removing makeup. However, when using this product as a scrub, I think it does a good job removing dead skin cells and leaves my face feeling soft and smooth after use. My favourite way of using this product is as a mask, as I think it is effective at tightening pores and I can see the result instantly.”

“I found it most effective as a daily wash,as it left my face feeling clean and fresh. I also enjoyed it as a mask, but as a scrub I found it wasn’t intense enough. But two out of three is not bad in my book, for a combined product. Washing it off can be a bit difficult, so I tend to do so in the shower as this makes it quicker and less messy.”

“I left it on for 15 minutes and washed it off to reveal fresh, soft and smooth skin. Overall, I've definitely seen an improvement in my skin tone over the last couple of weeks. My red spots have faded and the texture of my skin has become smoother. I'm breaking out less frequently and my skin has become less congested thanks to this beauty.”

I used to use Garnier anti acne products when I was studying ( good 10 years ago) and I used to enjoy them. I might have a look at the chemist and see what they have to offer now. I like having a typical anti acne cleanser in my beauty stash.
