The Avène Essential Care range is formulated using Avène Thermal Spring Water. The brand’s iconic spring water was discovered in 1736 in a small village in southern France, and was later declared to be of public benefit in dermatology.

Fast forward 40 years, and the Avène Thermal Spring Water is still a star ingredient, collected and directed towards the production plant where the Avène products are manufactured, and to the Hydrotherapy Centre where it is used to treat atopic dermatitis, psoriasis, and very sensitive, intolerant, and allergic skin. 

The Avène Soothing Radiance Mask is a face mask that helps restore the natural beauty of even the most sensitive skin. The antioxidant natural berry extract instantly delivers lipids to rebuild and strengthen the skin barrier so it’s able to maintain effective hydration and restore the skin’s natural balance.

Many members first impressions were of the simplisticly chic packaging, with special note to the travel-friendly convenience, as well as the ability to dispense product easily, with great control over how much is coming out.

There was a strong consensus that the mask is highly effective in reducing redness and leaves the skin hydrated and smooth after the allocated 10-15 minute period that is recommended. 

It was noted by several members that they did not necessarily have to wash the mask off, simply leaving it on as the skin absorbed it. This was favoured by those who are usually deterred by the extra admin that is required with washing off face masks. 

Although the mask was reported by some members as feeling slightly heavy on the skin, it was noted that this did not result in breakouts. The hydrating and soothing nature of this product saw many members name it as a new staple and one they will reaching for during the winter months.

The Avène Revitalizing Nourishing Cream is a face cream that helps to restore the natural beauty of dry, sensitive skin by delivering hydration, nourishment, energy and protection. 

Upon first impression of the cream, many members described the packaging as both simple and elegant.

Another feature within the packaging that came highly regarded was the spatula. Members were impressed with the inclusion of this feature, as this method of dispensing product lends itself to safe hygiene practices. 

The subtle scent was popular amongst triallers as it appropriately mirrored the gentle, nourishing and light texture they found the cream carried upon first application. Members noticed results within the first day, describing a noticeable improvement in the hydration and texture of skin, reporting that it felt instantly more smooth and silky. Majority of members commented on how gentle the cream was, and how their sensitive skin was comfortable with the new product.

No inclusion of SPF was noted by members, however this was overlooked as an issue, as members preferred the ability to use the cream at night as well as during the day. Something they would not have done had it contained SPF. 

A favourite amongst those with sensitive skin, majority of members said they would repurchase this product with their own money.
