Redness/Rosacea

I seriously cant tolerate my redness!!
I went to the dotors and he recommended a gentle cleanser, Cetaphil.
I can see it really calms my skin but over all I can still see the redness on my face in the morning and during the day.
Is their any products/treatments that would work?? And keep the awful redness at bay??
Thank you BH xx

Don`t worry too much Annyex, once you have a diagnosis you have options. You can do what I did and research the heck out of the subject and wear out google or just log on here and ask and see if I have come across something that will help you, either way is good!!

Actually I don`t use hot water very much because I have a hormonal condition that makes me fell like I`m burning all over, I only need luke warm water and I will glow red in the face. I only wish I could have hot showers!!

Thanks Elmo I hope my mum try`s out some of these suggestions 🙂

Just in regardness to redness post-shower – it means the water is too hot – as much as it`s very tempting to have a lovely hot shower in winter – you are really better off (as is your skin and hair) by lowering the temperature to a tepid/warm temp 🙂
    .
Also FYI melmeko – natural instinct do a pure aloe vera gel too 🙂

Thanks Jaimee-Lee I will copy and paste this and send it to her, this is probably the first info she has been given other than what her doctor has told her so I think the fact that it is also comming from someone else with the condition will be a great influence. Thanks 🙂

Melmeko if you are still reading this post tell your mum to try pure Aloe vera gel – you can buy it from the health food store. I just bought some and I keep it in the fridge for the nasty red flushes when they appear as it calms it down pretty quick. Tell her not to buy the green coloured or perfumed ones sold as sunburn remedies and just stick to the pure gel otherwise she may break out. I am still using the Skinfix cream and it has decreased my redness so incredibly well that now I only get the occasional red flush after a hot shower (hot for me is barely lukewarm for others), that is what I use the aloe vera gel for. Also the Akin range has toning mists (that I also use) that contain aloe, the one I am using is the Pure Rose hydrating spray and it also works like a charm to calm down redness after a shower or redness brought on by the nasty cold windy weather where I live. They also have a Lavender one and an orange blossom one that also both contain aloe and are not too expensive which last a while.
I have also started taking L-Lysine, b vitamin complex, vitamin c and a calcium & magnesium complex which according to my research should also help to reduce episodes and help keep Rosacea at bay (I will let you know if I think it works).
