What treatment did you get and where?

“I had the Kérastase Spécifique Scalp Treatment at the Kérastase Institute Flagship Salon in Rose Bay, Sydney NSW.”

How much does the treatment cost?

“The in-salon treatment starts from $25, and the at-home products vary, depending on your scalp issue.”

From start to finish, what did the treatment involve?

“Comprising of three steps, this intensive scalp ritual began with a scalp diagnosis which helped to determine the condition of my scalp and any other concerns using a diagnostic camera that detects dryness, sensitivity and light exposure. Then impurities we’re removed from my scalp with Spécifique Masquargil – a salon-only clay mask that unclogs pores and eliminates oil, sweat, pollution and product build-up.

Next, based on concerns identified by the diagnostic camera, Spécifique Bain, Spécifique Masque Hydra-Apaisant and one of three Spécifique Cures was applied. The Spécifique Cure, (also referred to as an Intense Cure Micronization) is a highly concentrated formula that’s attached to a Micronizer, which works a bit like an airbrush to deliver a thin, consistent layer directly onto the scalp. The Cure is prescribed based on your specific scalp concern.

Finally, I was prescribed my own at-home hair regime using products from the Spécifique collection based on my scalp concerns.”

How did the treatment feel on your scalp?

“The clay mask part of the treatment was my absolute favourite. The mask was applied to my scalp and had an instant cooling effect. Then I was treated to a 15 minute head massage – it was divine! The airbrushing Cure felt cool on my scalp when it was applied, too.”

How did your scalp and hair feel immediately after the treatment?

“Following the treatment, my hair looked super shiny and felt soft and healthy, too. Since I don’t have any major scalp concerns, I didn’t notice a huge difference to my scalp, however I find my scalp gets oily quite easily, and I did get an extra day in between my washes [after this treatment].”

How did your scalp and hair feel a couple of days after the treatment?

“Since my scalp was in a relatively healthy condition, I didn’t see or feel any major effects following the treatment. I did notice, however, that my hair felt less oily near the roots in the following few days. I also feel that my hair is healthier since having the treatment. It’s much shinier and softer than usual.”

Who would you recommend this treatment for?

“Anyone who has scalp concerns such as dryness, itching, flaking, sensitivity, etc. I think those suffering with these scalp concerns would really benefit from this treatment, as well as the opportunity to speak with the professionals who have a much deeper level of scalp-health knowledge.”
