12 of the most useful salon beauty products

There’s no denying that finding your favourite beauty product in your local chemist/supermarket/ department store is one of life’s greatest pleasures.

But there’s just something about going into a salon to pick up your ultimate foundation or cleanser. There’s an element of prestige about it, a feeling like you’re truly pampering yourself. And you know what? I don’t think we do it enough. So in an effort to further encourage this act of treating yourself, here are some of the most useful beauty products. Found only in salons, of course.

Hair

Aveda Color Conserve Shampoo – this one’s for those ladies who regularly colour their hair and hate losing the vibrancy of the hue after a few washes. Don’t be fooled by the lack of lather – it’s still doing a wonderful job of cleaning your hair while maintaining that wonderful colour.

bhave™ fresh ends – if your damaged hair and split ends are the bane of your existence, this is the product you need in your bathroom cabinet. The lightweight (and deliciously fragranced) balm works wonders to restore strength and shine to your hair without weighing it down.

De Lorenzo Absorb Dry Shampoo – ok, so you can find dry shampoo in your supermarket. But this grease-fighting, hair-volumising can of goodness is packed with ingredients like rose hip oil, vitamin C and omegas 3 and 6 to leave your hair clean, fresh, and downright gorgeous.

Skin

ASAP Advanced Eye Repair+ – this eye cream is just what the doctor ordered for those who are concerned with those annoying lines and wrinkles around the eye area. And if you’re concerned that the combination of arnica, coenzyme Q10, vitamin A and white tea will irritate your eyes, rest assured, you won’t feel a thing.

Ultraceuticals Ultra Clear Foaming Cleanser– when it comes to acne, you need an effective cleanser. And this one definitely fits the bill. Vitamins and BHA will help keep your skin clean and clear, while clove oil, salicylic acid, and sandalwood and eucalyptus oils will work hard to unclog pores and fight acne-causing bacteria.

AWE Cosmeceuticals kaanti Lightening Serum – pigmentation and dark spots got you down? Well, it’s time to stop the suffering and start using this serum. Specially formulated to target pigmentation, it’ll help even out your skin tone and even sort out any acne scars!

Make-up

Mirabella Skin Tint Crème – this mineral-based foundation is perfect for those who are looking for coverage that’ll even out their skin tone. You’ll love how easily the formula glides on your skin to leave your complexion flawlessly beautiful. Oh, and it’s free from talc, parabens and lead.

Mineralogie Lipstick – this double-duty lipstick looks after your lips while adding glorious colour to them. Grape seed oil, jojoba oil, and aloe vera gel ensure your lips are soft and supple, while the mineral pigments in the formula means that colour won’t fade.

Jane Iredale Active Light Concealer– no one likes having puffy under-eye circles, it’s a fact. This useful concealer can do wonderful things to brighten your eye area while working to reduce any puffiness that may be bothering you. Just twist the pen-like container and you’re good to go.

Body

Bodyography Oxyplex Body Gloss– this nifty body lotion combines the bronzing elements of a fake tan with the nourishing qualities of a moisturiser. It’s the best kind of combination. Plus, you can build the formula, so you can choose how much you want to tan your skin!

Environ A, C & E Enhanced Body Oil – you can basically say farewell to pesky scarring, stretchmarks and cellulite after using this vitamin-rich body lotion. Oh, and PS, it’s does wonders for sun-damaged skin, too.

endota spa mimosa & ginseng body polish – take your exfoliation to an entirely new level with this combo of ginseng (to boost circulation) and mimosa (to relax). It’ll make your scrubbing session feel like more of a pampering treat than boring necessity.
