These are the treatments we’ll all be getting in 2020

Once reserved for the A-list, beauty treatments are becoming a part of our own routines more frequently as the years go by.

Thanks to advancements in microblading, SNS nails, lash lifts and fat-freezing machines, the average woman is no longer spending her lunch break on a simple mani-pedi (though we’re still getting that too).

And there’s still plenty more to come, with new technologies (and more affordable price points) making a whole host of new treatments available to all.

Here are some of the ones gathering hype and likely to be coming to a salon near you in 2020 (if not already there)…

Brow lamination

Brow lamination is the new way to get fuller, feathery brows without needling. It involves using a keratin chemical to straighten and adjust the direction of the brow hairs, so they sit upright and fluffy. Paired with a tint, this pain-free treatment is going to skyrocket in popularity, fast. Royal Clinics Australia is currently the only salon in Australia offering the new service (located in North Ryde, Sydney), but keep your eyes peeled in 2020 as more and more join the pack.

Lip flip

A ‘lip flip’ is a subtle alternative for those who want plumper lips, without filler.  It involves Botox being injected into strategic areas above the top lip, to create a poutier, fuller effect.

Frotox

Not a fan of needles? Maybe Frotox will take your fancy…

This cool new treatment uses cryotherapy in an attempt to ‘freeze’ the signs of ageing. Vaporised liquid nitrogen is sprayed onto the face and neck to encourage the skin’s natural reaction of tightening (to maintain body heat) and also encourages cell renewal and collagen production.

Mirco-channeling

Similar to micro-needling, micro-chanelling punctures the skin, creating ‘mini injuries’ to effectively trigger new collagen production. The main difference with this new method, is that micro-chanelling is administered in a stamp pattern, rather than rolled across the skin. It’s said to cause ‘less trauma’ and has less risk of dragging the skin.

Non-surgical tweakments

From non-surgical nose jobs to slimming your face with nothing but (a few) needles, using Botox or filler to reshape facial features is only going to become more commonplace in 2020.

Infrared saunas

Since Kendall Jenner revealed that she visits infrared saunas to help ease her anxieties, there’s been a resonance. Similar to how LED Light Therapy masks work, infrared saunas provide similar benefits, only from top-to-toe. As well as clearer and tighter skin, they can help to improve your sleep, provide deep relaxation and detoxification. Sign us up.

Sweat-proof Botox

Botox has long been known as an anti-wrinkle injection, but those who experience excessive sweating are also finding benefit from restricting muscle movement. Angie from The Bachelorette admitted to having injections in her hands (so she wouldn’t sweat all over her dates) and Chrissy Teigen has had it in her armpits.

Would you get any of these treatments?
