5 signs you should get a facial
Honestly, I’d take any excuse to get a facial, but sometimes your skin really craves the extra TLC a professional facial offers.
Read on to find out if you’re due to treat your skin to a little luxury…
#1 You’re getting unusual breakouts
So, you’re used to getting the odd spot or two, but what does it mean when you start majorly breaking out? If there’s no logical explanation for your spots (e.g. you’re on a new medication), then it’s time to get a facial. There could be an underlying issue that’s causing your skin to flare up, and if that’s the case, your facialist will be able to help to treat it, as well as offer tips and products for handling it at home.
#2 Your pores are clogged
Remember that hands off rule in primary school? Apply it to your blackheads – and don’t touch them! Instead, book in for a deep cleansing and purifying facial and mention to your facialist that you’d like extractions. She’ll use her professional, trained fingertips to work on your blackheads – without spreading pore-clogging germs!
#3 Your skin’s drier and flakier than usual
Though it’s pretty resilient, your skin goes through many changes, especially in between seasons. In winter, cold winds, dry air, indoor heating, and extra hot showers can cause havoc on your complexion, leading it to lose valuable hydration, tighten right up, and become flaky. To fix those issues, make an appointment for a hydrating and nourishing facial and give your skin a much-needed injection of moisture.
#4 You’ve been travelling
Ask anyone who’s been on a long-haul flight and they’ll tell you: flying high in the skies is far from the best thing for your skin. And if you’ve been indulging in a four cocktails a day and spending loads of time in the sun, you may be coming home with skin that’s more parched and crepey than usual. A hydrating facial will help to bring life (and moisture!) into your skin and give you that post-holiday glow you’re after!
#5 You just want to relax
Need I say more? Aside from a massage, there’s nothing quite as relaxing as lying back and having your mug tended to by a professional, with the promise of clearer skin and a gorgeous glow once the hour (or even thirty minutes) is up. Go on – treat yourself!
