The ultimate secret to smooth, youthful skin

Do you know what is it? No, it’s not plastic surgery. And it’s not Botox. It’s hydration! Yes, a good ol’ dose of nourishment. This is because your skin is like a plum – when it’s full of water it is plump and smooth, but when it’s dehydrated it shrivels and looks prune-like.
So, in order to prevent your complexion from becoming thirsty, we’ve created a simple five-step routine with exceptional product recommendations that’ll keep your skin looking youthful for longer.
5 STEPS TO HYDRATED, YOUTHFUL SKIN
1. Use a creamy cleanser.
Try: Cellex-C Betaplex Gentle Cleansing Milk.
Foaming cleansers can sometimes strip your skin of much-needed moisture. This creamy lotion will still remove dirt, grime and make-up to help leave your skin fresh and clean, while also nourishing your skin with botanical extracts.
2. Apply a regenerating mask.
Try: Xtend-Life Women's Deep Active Hydrating Mask.
Many of us skip this step because of laziness, but if a little effort gives you better skin, we think it’s most certainly worth it. This particular mask is packed with goodness (read: rich plant oils, antioxidants and essential fatty acids) to not only rehydrate your skin, but regenerate it too.
3. Mist or swipe on a moisture-boosting toner.
Try: eleusian Hydrosool Tonic Mist
When your skin is damp, it more readily accepts your serum and moisturiser, which means they’re able to work better. Spritz on this hydrating mist after cleansing or removing your mask for an intense moisture boost. It contains skin-perfecting nutrients and nourishing essential oils, making it ideal for tired, dull, dry skin.
4. Apply a lightweight serum.
Try: RACINNE Optimal Fortifying Emulsion.
When it comes to fighting dehydration, serums are your best defence. The fine formulation is able to sink deep into your skin cells, instead of sitting on the skin like a blanket. This hydrating formula contains grape callus extract, rare deep-sea plant extracts and multivitamins to energise and awaken your skin cells so your complexion is left plumper, smoother and more radiant.
5. Finish with a nourishing moisturiser.
Try: Cosmecology NUTRI SKIN.
Moisturisers have a wonderful knack of locking in moisture as well as providing immediate hydration. This radiance-enhancing face cream does great things for mature or drier skins, as its creamy texture and essential fatty acids comfort and soothe your skin while nourishing it at the same time.
Do you suffer from dry or dehydrated skin? Do you treat your thirsty skin to hydrating products? Will you pay more attention to moisturising your skin from now on?

My skin does tend to be on the dry side. I find that using a serum under my moisturiser makes a huge difference. And make sure you drink lots of water.

I wasn't sure when using face masks what order they came in the skin routine so thank you for clearing that up.

It's definitely all about hydration. I find that having a night time moisturising routine is so important in keeping the skin hydrated during the night. And then, of course, it's wash off in the morning and start with the day time prep.

I overdid it lately, trying to combat my melasma, did too much of exfoliation and acid containing skincare. So my skin got dry and even more sensitive. So backed up now, and just sticking to good hydration/nourishing creams. Worked =)
