Tips for grooming your groom

Your big day is finally here! Well, obviously it’s not just your big day – odds are there’ll be someone waiting for you at the end of the aisle, and I’m hoping (as I’m sure you are) that it’ll be your lovely, handsome husband.

But just hoping he’ll look as handsome as you know he can be isn’t quite enough now is it? Like most instances when it comes to your guy and grooming, he’ll probably need a little help from you. So why not arm him with all the tools and support he needs in advance to ensure he looks as picture perfect as you both imagined on your big day? Here’s how to help.

TIP FOR GROOMING YOUR GROOM #1: Plan his facial hair
It may sound silly, planning facial hair growth – but it does take very careful planning to get it just right. Odds are there is a growth stage that both of you prefer for him; whether it be clean-shaven, a five o’clock shadow or a fuzzier kind of face. The truth is, just like the hair on your head, facial hair take time to grow – and there’s nothing you can do to quicken the process. Around a month out from your big day get your guy to shave his whole face (we recommend using Tebe Men’s Shaving Cream with a skin soothing aloe vera and olive oil-enriched formula) and day by day assess how you like the growth. Once you’re happy with how it looks, you’ll know how many days he needs to shave his face before the wedding.

TIP FOR GROOMING YOUR GROOM #2: Stop the sweat
The last thing you want your guy to be worrying about on your special day is damp underarms, so why not trial a few deodorants in the weeks leading up to your wedding to ensure he’s wearing the best one for him on the day when it really counts? If you want the heavy-duty stuff, we recommend trialing Rexona Clinical Protection Anti-Perspirant deodorant for him, as it assists in the relief of heavy sweating and odour-causing bacteria.

TIP FOR GROOMING YOUR GROOM #3: The bits guys always forget
Has your guy got hair where he shouldn’t? Like peeking out of his nose and his ears, as well as that little space between his eyebrows that should (ideally) be bare? Then this is something he needs help with before all eyes are on him at your wedding. The Davinci Nose Trimmer is compact and comes complete with rotating blades designed for safe and fast removal of unwanted nasal and ear hair. To tackle his mono brow, simply grab a hypoallergenic mini strip from your pack of Waxaway Ready To Use Sensitive Wax Strips, warm them in your hands before applying and voila! Uni-brow be gone…
If your man suffers from traditional grimy man hands, there’s no better time to clean up his act than your wedding. A few weeks before your big day, leave AHAVA Hand Cream for men next to your bed with strict instructions that he is to slather it on before his head hits the pillow each night. Better still, plant a few Dettol No-Touch Hand Wash Systems around the house – you know that men just can’t resist a gizmo, and he’ll be coming back time and time again to wash his hands without having to push a pump. What he doesn’t know is, when his hands look gorgeous as you slip on his wedding ring – you’ll be the real winner.

What did/does your guy need help with on your big day? Does the guy in your life need help with day-to-day grooming too? What’s the weirdest thing he’s ever asked you for help with?
