The ultimate Kim Kardashian skin care guide

When it comes to a skin care routine like the one of Kim Kardashian, I’m like a kid in a candy store. While she went from reality TV star to beauty mogul, at heart, Kim Kardashian has always been in the business of aesthetics. Her access to the best and most expensive skin care products, treatments and experts is undeniable. Flaunting her nothing but flawless complexion on each episode of her family’s reality TV show, Keeping Up With The Kardashians, clearly money is no object for Kim when it comes her beauty routine.

So who better to learn a skin care trick or two from than a woman 100% dedicated to a firm face and a clear complexion. Here are the ultimate Kim Kardashian beauty tips 2018.

Lesson #1: Look to drugstores beauty buys

While she is known to use super exy beauty products, Kim Kardashian is no fool when it comes to drugstore beauty products. She knows that they can be effective. Revealing recently on her app that she regularly uses The Ordinary Granactive Retinoid* 2% Emulsion, which comes at an affordable price tag of $17.90. It can be bought online at Myer and Adore Beauty. A non-prescription form of retinoid, this little jar offers myriad anti-ageing benefits from helping to reduce pore size and dark brown age spots to softening fine lines and wrinkles.

“In any skin-care routine, anti-aging products are SO important,” Kardashian wrote on her app. “They can have so many benefits, like reducing dark spots, preventing wrinkles, smoothing fine lines and so much more.”

Lesson #2: Don’t shy of non-invasive treatments

When it comes to skin treatments, Kim Kardashian doesn’t shy away from the in-clinic types. Famously known for having a vampire facial where her blood was drawn, spun in a centrifuge, and then reinjected, Kim has tried it all. Melissa Haloossim, founder of Skin Thesis in West Hollywood, who Kim turns to for skin expertise, says she “is willing to try new things, as long as it is reasonable, non-invasive and has no down-time.”

“Sometimes I’ll see a picture of myself that I don’t like, so I’ll screen-grab it and text it to [Melissa], and go, ‘Oh my God, my face is falling, we need a tightening facial,’” explains Kim on her app. Heading straight to Skin Thesis, Haloosim performs a custom combination of treatments on Kim that tighten, lift and stimulate facial muscles and collagen. It’s not dissimilar to one of the more popular Skin Thesis’ treatments, the Runway Facial that incorporates laser, oxygen and LED facials.

Lesson #3: Use skin care suited to your age

No thanks to her Armenian heritage, ruthless skin care routine and wink, wink, a Botox injection or two, Kim doesn’t have a wrinkle in sight. So it’s no wonder she loves to share her skin care tips for every age.

“Your 20s should be all about preventing signs of aging and treating the occasional acne flare up. Keep things simple,” she says.

You can use a physical exfoliator, like a facial scrub, or a chemical exfoliator, like a glycolic peel that helps resurface skin’s texture and prevent acne.”

“To combat wrinkles, you should begin using products that contain retinol,” she says. “When using a retinoid, you must wear sunscreen every day. And, because the skin around the eyes is the thinnest and first to show signs of aging, it’s also important to introduce a moisturizing eye cream to your skin regimen.”

“To fight lines and wrinkles in your 40s, it’s crucial to keep your skin hydrated,” she says. “Since skin has begun to lose its elasticity, use a creamy cleanser that won’t strip away moisture,” she says. “In addition to your retinol products, use a high SPF sunscreen and products that contain vitamin C to prevent against skin cancer and dark spots.”
