Sarah Jessica Parker Has Used This Drugstore Moisturiser for Almost A Decade

We might be in between seasons of Sex And The City’s reboot, And Just Like That, but that doesn’t mean our interest in SJP’s glam has slowed down. We’ve mastered Carrie’s soft, undone waves and even discovered the exact four products behind her glowing on-screen makeup. And now, as the final piece in the SJP beauty puzzle, we’ve uncovered the secret to her soft and youthful skin. However, it appears that SJP’s complexion is nearly a decade ahead of us.

Proving that consistency really is key, Sarah Jessica told Vogue UK, “I am not really a products person but I’ve been wearing the same moisturiser for the last eight years.” Unlike fellow celebs who you won’t find recommending a cream under $100, (looking at you Victoria Beckham), Sarah’s loyalty lies with a product you’ll find on the shelves of your local Chemist Warehouse: La Roche–Posay’s Toleraine Fluid ($31.99, Chemist Warehouse).

“I like it because it’s like water and it’s really good, plus I can’t wear moisturiser with fragrance in it and it doesn’t have that,” she said.

For those who aren’t familiar with this French pharmacy product, it is intended for oily and acne-prone skin types and works to soothe sensitivities, reduce redness and boost hydration. The lightweight, breathable texture makes it ideal for layering underneath makeup during the day and as a comfortable last step in any nighttime skin care routine.

If SJP’s rave reviews weren’t enough, here’s what our very own beautyheaven members had to say…

“This moisturizer has become one of my favourite face products to use on a daily basis. I have oily skin and have thus struggled to find a moisturiser that doesn’t cause me to break out the next day” – Kate Giddy

“The La Roche Posay ultra daily moisturiser is very gentle and geared towards those who have really sensitive that is prone to irritation and redness. It hydrates the skin without being too thick or heavy” – Miss19

Have you tried SJP’s go-to moisturiser? If not, which moisturiser do you rely on?

  1. I love fluffy Avene moisturizers from French pharmacies. LRP are coming out with some good serums

For me best quenching moisturizers good for non clogging, no coated and no grease effect are Murad h-y-d-r-a and Clinique 100h moisture surge mineral oil free (forgot the name) creams.

  2. I love reading about the celebrities that use affordable products that us mere mortals can afford. SJP could easily afford some super expensive products but likes this product and isn’t about trying to show off using some over priced brand. I also love that she reads books and uses libraries.

  3. I must admit she is aging well and I love the fact she is not bothering to die her hair even though she is going grey. She still looks fantastic and probably feels quite happy with how she looks. Good on her.
