The right way to moisturise

If you think simply slapping your moisturiser all over your face every day will do the trick, then think again. There is a right way to moisturise your mug, and by using the correct method, your skin will reward you with a healthy, hydrated glow.

Here’s how to master your moisturising technique…

STEP #1: FIND A GREAT MOISTURISER

The key to healthy skin is hydration. So first things first, pick a moisturiser that contains hyaluronic acid to give your skin a much-needed hit of hydration. We love the improved formulation of philosophy’s renewed hope in a jar moisturiser as it delivers lasting hydration and a healthy glow. It also works behind the scenes to renew your skin for a fresh-looking complexion.

STEP #2: IT’S ALL IN THE EYES

To target the fine lines and wrinkles around your eyes, make sure you arm yourself with an eye cream. After cleansing with the super-soft and creamy philosophy renewed hope in a jar revitalizing creamy foam cleanser, pat your skin dry and pop the philosophy renewed hope in a jar eye cream on the tip of your ring finger. Dab three dots on the skin under your eyes, and gently pat it in. Avoid rubbing the cream in as this can pull the delicate skin around the eye area. This eye cream not only hydrates skin, but it also contains yeast extract to smooth out fine lines.

STEP #3: APPLY FROM THE CENTRE, MOVING OUTWARDS

After applying your eye cream, let it sink in completely before putting a pea-sized amount of the philosophy renewed hope in a jar moisturiser on your fingertips. Gently warm the moisturiser by rubbing it between your fingertips, and then dab a small amount on your nose, cheeks, forehead and chin. Starting at your nose, gently blend the moisturiser out across your cheeks and up towards your temples. Smooth the cream over your forehead and up to your hairline using upward strokes, then blend it from the centre of your chin out and up towards your cheeks and across your jawline.

STEP #4: DON’T NEGLECT YOUR NECK

If you don’t smooth your moisturiser down your neck and over your décolletage, then make it a habit, like, now! It’s all well and good to moisturise your face morning and night, but the skin on your neck and chest show the signs of ageing as well.

After moisturising your face, smooth the excess cream all the way down your neck and out across your chest, and then massage the cream in using upward strokes.
