Pat McGrath is a legend among celebrities and the beauty-obsessed for a reason. Her eponymous makeup line is essentially a work of art, from the Bridgerton-themed collection worthy of a Lady Whistledown review to the coveted MatteTrance Lipstick ($62.99 at Sephora).

And now the queen of makeup has made her first foray into the world of skin care with the launch of DIVINE SKIN: Rose 001™ The Essence, a milky essence-toner that promises to hydrate, revitalise and boost your skin’s glow.

“I wanted to create something for all skin types that’s the effortless first step to awakening our complexion’s natural moisture memory, revealing the skin we are born with, reawakened,” McGrath said in a press release. “It’s my dream come true.”

Divine Skin: The Essence is formulated in Korea with 97 per cent botanically-derived ingredients including squalane, vitamin E, sea buckthorn and sweet almond oil. But the real hero of the product is the unique bi-phase technology, which includes Rose-Biotic and HydraSphere18. Together, these breakthrough complexes work to enhance the skin’s appearance — hello plump, rejuvenated complexion!

The essence-toner hybrid can be incorporated into your skin care routine in place of your standard toner (after cleansing and before layering any serums or moisturiser) for a dewy, refined complexion. You can even add a layer over your makeup to give your skin a midday pick-me-up and help protect against environmental aggressors.

McGrath has named supermodel Naomi Campbell as the skin care line’s first ambassador. The two have been friends for almost three decades, working together backstage, on set and for numerous Pat McGrath Labs launches.

“Pat knows, I love anything that hydrates, and she knows what I love about this — it’s not trying to paint a coat glow on my skin, it’s really bringing out my glow,” Campbell said in an interview with Refinery29. “Anyone [who] puts it on, the skin feels revitalized, it feels replenished, it feels plumped, it feels smooth, and you can put makeup on easier.”

Campbell has reportedly been using the product for a year now, and after seeing her picture-perfect complexion at this year’s Met Gala we think it’s paid off!

Divine Skin is now available for AU$140 via Pat McGrath Labs.

We can’t wait to get our hands on Pat McGrath’s Divine Skin and channel Naomi’s goddess-like glow!

  1. I got 4 of her luxe trance lippies as they were on some insane sale on Patmcgrath site with free shipping. Got each 12 bucks aud. Anyways, they are great, lippies. And bought 2 eyeshadow palettes (not for me as I don’t use shadows, for gifts to my fave girls in the world). They are incredible, wanted to keep haha.

Skincare though, not going to try. I’m good.

  2. The good news is that What’s In My Jar did a breakdown of the ingredients and their functions in Pat McGrath’s Essence. There are much cheaper products out there containing the ingredients that are also elegant formulations!
