Bid adieu to bad beauty behaviour

Bid adieu to bad beauty behaviour

If you’re anything like me, you find turning over a new leaf without ‘an occasion’ an effort. Trying to start a diet on a Tuesday? Forget it. Monday’s the official start of the week. Giving up chocolate? Well it’s pointless mid-month, I’ll start in July. It’s the same with bad beauty behaviour.

That’s why I’m using the start of a new year (who cares if it’s financial or ‘real’), as a time to put a ban on those bad beauty habits once and for all. Get your list ready for July 1 too…

I shall give my hair the heat protection it deserves. I like to think I’m not the boss-from-hell to my hair. I don’t dye it. I don’t straighten it every single day. I get regular trims. But I don’t heat protect. As we wait for that bombshell to sink in, can I just say that, armed with Dove Heat Defence Therapy Shampoo and Dove Heat Defence Therapy Heat Activated Protect & Shine Mist, I promise to better protect my tresses in the future.

I shall not pick my spots. I should probably add, “I shall stop talking about spots” too as my girlfriends tell me it’s not the done thing. Instead I will be using Ilcsi Organic Skincare Herbal Spot Serum to help decrease inflammation.

I shall remove make-up before bed. Hopefully you’re still reading and haven’t fainted from my hideous beauty revelations yet so that you can discover that my laziness when it comes to removing make-up will be counteracted with Biore Daily Deep Pore Cleansing Wipes, a lifesaver when it’s too late to faff with a 50-step routine.

I shall not ignore toner. I know, I know, I don’t use toner and still have the gall to call myself a beauty editor, right? Well toner for me has always been the kind of product I think I can take or leave. But it isn’t. It helps to keep balance in the skin, removes everything that cleanser missed, tightens pores and absorbs excess oil from blemishes. In other words, it’s essential.
