The targeted solution for your pigmentation

The targeted solution for your pigmentation

Remember when you were younger and you used to pull funny faces and your mum would say something like: “Stop doing that, you’ll give yourself wrinkles!” or, “If you keep squinting/frowning/furrowing your brow, you’re going to going to get lines.”? Well, it would have been nice if mum threw this in every once in a while, too: “Don’t forget your sunscreen, you don’t want to get pigmentation or sun spots!”

Pigmentation, uneven skin, dull skin, and sun-damaged skin – they’re all really annoying parts of getting older and a big problem for some women.

Luckily for all of us, technology has come a long way over the years and there are skin care products that help target these skin issues and leave your skin looking radiant and youthful.

NeoStrata’s new Enlighten range, which includes the Enlighten Ultra Brightening Cleanser, Enlighten Illuminating Serum, and Enlighten Pigment Controller, has been developed especially to target signs of pigmentation and reduce the appearance of them while brightening skin, evening out skin tone and helping control pigmentation.

But what makes this range so different to other skin care ranges out there? Each product contains an ingredient called NeoGlucosamine which is being hailed as the next generation of professional anti-ageing actives.  It’s a amino sugar-based technology and works to exfoliate, renew, brighten, even out skin tone and plump and firm the skin, all while being mild and gentle.

bh’s Yelena is currently undergoing the Enlighten treatment for 6-8 weeks (but we’ll have more of that in the coming weeks), but before she could begin the treatment, she had to have her skin analysed by NeoStrata to determine whether or not the range would work best to treat her skin type and concerns.

We asked NeoStrata to shed some light on the skin analysis and how the range can help those suffering from pigmentation, sun-damaged skin and lines and wrinkles.

How does the NeoStrata skin analysis work?

A NeoStrata skin specialist or beauty therapist will first evaluate your skin and concerns, pointing out any issues under a normal light using a mirror, so you can get a visual understanding. If you’re concerned about pigmentation, sun damage and other ageing concerns, your skin will then be looked at under a low-level UV light (via a skin-scanning machine). This will allow the specialist to see the deeper layers of your skin and help them identify areas that may be pigmented, sun damaged, dehydrated, dry, oily or acne-prone.

Once the skin analysis is complete, the skin specialist will be able to recommend the Neostrata range that will work best for you.

Which skin concerns and types are most likely to benefit from the Enlighten range?

As mentioned, NeoGlucosamine is a mild active, meaning that it’s well tolerated by most skin types, including those with sensitive skin.

The range aims to brighten and even out skin tone, so those whose main skin issues are pigmentation, dullness, dark spots and unevenness will find they get the best results from using the products. For people whose concerns are oiliness, acne, large pores or skin clarity, they may find greater success with another one of the NeoStrata ranges that target other skin problems.

How do I know if the Enlighten range will work?

The Enlighten range has been developed specifically to target and address pigmentation, sun spots, uneven skin and lines and wrinkles – all of which are big signs of ageing. So if you’re experiencing concerns such as  crows feet, brown spots, a dull skin tone, or your skin tone isn’t consistent, it’s likely that you’ll benefit from continued use of the Enlighten trio.
