The moisturiser that helped calm my red, acne-prone skin

I’ve been trialling the Proactiv Green Tea Moisturiser for the past few months and I’m so excited to finally be able to review it!

I have to admit, I’ve never been picky about my moisturisers. I’ve tried a bunch out and haven’t seen too much of a difference between them. I have no complaints. They all do the job. But now that I’ve tried this moisturiser out, I can safely say it does more than just moisturise.

I have red undertones that, in my opinion, look more like overtones. (Seriously, the amount of times people have asked if I’m sunburnt is ridiculous) . That’s the main reason I was looking forward to using this moisturiser because it’s hero ingredient is green tea extract (an antioxidant that has an anti-inflammatory effect on red, irritated or sensitive skin).

The Proactiv Green Tea Moisturiser has a consistency that’s different to other moisturisers I’ve used in the past. It’s more gel-like than creamy which makes it super lightweight and breathable to wear. It’s also non-comedogenic (aka formulated so it won’t clog your pores) which is perfect for my acne-prone skin.

Since I started using this moisturiser every morning and evening a few months ago, my skin has (as expected) been perfectly moisturised, but it’s also just calmed right down. It’s not looking as red as it used to and my acne hasn’t been as bad. It absorbs into my skin really quickly and has a non-intrusive scent. Plus, the hyaluronic acid and macadamia nut oil extract are both great for hydrating dry skin in winter.

If you want to cram some soothing benefits into your skin care routine without actually adding any more steps, I’d highly recommend this moisturiser.
