Question: how long do you spend getting ready each day?

FACT: In total, Aussie women spend over 13 million hours a week getting ready. And if you nut this fact down and make it a little more personal, the average woman spends the equivalent of almost four years of full-time work in front of the mirror. Crazy? Yes, but totally true.
The white coats at NIVEA have been snooping around in an attempt to gain an insight into the skin care tips, tricks and secrets of Australian women, you see, and this is what they’ve found: we all spend a heck of a lot of time getting ready before leaving the house each day. (Our poor boyfriends, partners and husbands. No wonder they get so impatient…)
ANOTHER FACT: nine out of 10 women would rather be called naturally beautiful than be complimented on their clothes, hair or make-up.
Say what? Doesn’t this go against all that time we’re spending getting ready each day? Not really. As someone who is surrounded by beauty loot and looks all day every day, I’m completely aware that no-make-up make-up looks are often the hardest to achieve, as is a naturally textured, just-crawled-out-of-bed hair ‘do. True story.
These facts have aroused a case of complete curiosity in me, beauties. Yep, I want to know how long you take to get ready each morning. Do you spend hours in the bathroom? Or are you super-quick?
If I’m honest, I take a really long time. I partly blame this on my love of beauty products and my desire to use so many different ones every single day, but I also can’t stand being in a rush. It gets me in a real old tizz, I tell you. So by allowing myself heaps of time, I leave the house feeling cool, calm, collected and looking put together. (I hope…)
Liz Hurley recently told Amuse magazine that she’s super-speedy at getting ready. She said: "I can get fully made up in five minutes flat; light foundation, blush, eye pencil, eyelash curlers, mascara, a slick of lip gloss and I feel a million times better."
Now, I’m not one to shout bullocks, but she’s one super-speedy make-up applier if she can do all that in five minutes flat. I know I’d have no chance. Not at all.
Anyway, I want to know your thoughts, beauties. What does your morning routine consist of? And would you like to be called naturally beautiful? Or would prefer it if your clothes, make-up or hair copped a brilliant compliment? I'm dying to know...

It depends on the occasion, if I'm going somewhere formal and fancy I'll probably take close to an hour but for everyday wear I try not to take too long, 10-15 minutes.

oh, so getting 'ready' does not include showering and skincare? Liz only said makeup stuff....so that means I am ready in zero minutes?

15 min (also when doing hair which is long): shower, apply skincare ...and that is it.

I can do my everyday makeup in less that 10 minutes...I shower at night, so I don't have to worry about that in the morning. If I'm going somewhere special though, I usually take about 20 minutes to get ready.

I spend about 30 minutes in the morning to brush my teeth, get dressed, tie my hair, do my makeup and moisturise my legs and hands. Good on Liz Hurley - she's got her makeup down pat. Or like you say, naturally beautiful women like her will look great without makeup.

I think I spend about 20 minutes to get ready. I have Bren trying to achieve the natural look but don't have the right products at the moment.

I find if I'm being pushed to the time limit, I can get ready in 10 minutes (brush teeth, hair, makeup). On a good day, usually takes about 15 minutes. And if I don't have a tight time schedule then perhaps 90 minutes. Perfection takes time...

I know I've come across an old article but I wonder how long it takes these days, may only be two years later but we seem to have so many products we use I wonder if the time getting ready is now longer? I def can't be rushed or I also end up in a tizz so if I have to be somewhere early I'd rather get up heaps earlier than get the extra sleep and rush, horrible feeling having to rush!

I probably spend 45 minutes on a normal day about an hour or a bit more depending on how I'm doing my hair to go out

Most days I don't even put on make up! When I'm working I wake up an hour before I leave and that's usually enough time for me

For average shower/dressing/makeup etc. I'd say between 1/2 hr & 1 hr. If I have to wash my hair however, all bets are off! I usually do it at night, so I only have to finish straightening it the next morning after a brief shower. I DO have heaps of hair...
