Georgia Love shares her biggest beauty blunder

You likely know her as Australia’s 2016 Bachelorette, but Georgia Love’s achievements span much further than that. From a successful career as a news reporter, to signing on as an ambassador for iconic Aussie beauty brand Palmer’s, no two days are the same for Love. We recently sat down to have an exclusive chat with the journalist to talk all things beauty, the products she swears by and the unexpected mascara trick that you shouldn’t try at home.

On her beauty routine…

“There is no such thing as a normal day for me at the moment. I’m doing news a few days a week, Studio 10 a few days a week, bits of radio here, bits of hosting there, so all different. When I’m not doing TV days, I try to keep it really fresh, give my skin a bit of a break. When I’m not at work, I’ll just wear a bit of CC cream on my face and some mascara, and some eyebrow gel to keep my brows in place. When I am at work, it’s obviously just a lot more makeup, a lot more product and lot more time that goes into that.”

On her holy grail product…

“Mascara. I have naturally long lashes, so I always accentuate them. A good mascara will always make me feel like I’ve had my face done. I’m obsessed with Perversion, from Urban Decay. That’s my favourite. I would rarely leave the house without it”

On taking care of her skin…

“When I was filming the Bachelorette, my skin was just terrible. I was wearing so much makeup; the hours were so long, I was getting so tired. I didn’t have a set skin care routine then. I think having one just makes everything about makeup and beauty work better. When your skin is better, your makeup is better. That’s just my number one rule now that I’ll always live by, and I learnt it the hard way. Now, I absolutely 100% cleanse and moisturise morning and night, every single day. It doesn’t matter how tired I am, how much or how little makeup I am wearing. I try to always use a serum, my favourite product ever is [Palmer’s Skin Perfecting Ultra Hydrating Serum]. It’s just the most beautiful plumping formula. I use it as a primer, if I’m wearing a full face of makeup or as a moisturising serum at night time, it’s just changed my life.”

On her bizarre makeup hack…

“It’s in a movie, I can’t remember what the movie is but Julia Roberts does it. I remember when the movie came out everyone thought it was crazy but I do it. When I put mascara on, I’ve got quite long lashes, so I put a lot of mascara on instead of ever wearing false lashes or anything but to make sure they look nice and natural and separated I get a safety pin or needle and separate my lashes. People are always so freaked out when I do that, they think I’m going to poke myself in the eye but I’ve always done it. Maybe after a couple of coffees I wouldn’t do it.” (bh does not recommend trying this at home).

On her biggest beauty blunder…

“It’s more, something I do now that I didn’t use to do but getting my eyebrows done! I’ve got dead straight, completely boring eyebrows naturally and I discovered an eyebrow artist, she is the queen. I’ve actually had my brows feathered, which is semi-permanent tattooing and it’s changed my life. It’s changed my face shape and I can wake up in the morning and they’re already done. I don’t know how I ever didn’t have it, I look back at old photos and I go ‘oh my god’.

See the video below where Palmer’s have worked collaboratively with Georgia to tell the story of “The Nature of Georgia Love”.  Palmer’s aims to empower women to learn from life’s experiences and encourage them to stay true to themselves, remembering that these mistakes and the lessons learned are all part of the nature of you.
