Bet you didn’t know Cameron and Carmen were the same age, did you?
Yep, both awesome A-listers have reached 40 years. Would you pick it? I certainly didn’t.
I mean, check out the images above. From a far away glance I would say there was at least 10 years between them – and sorry Cameron, judging by that slap, you would certainly be on the higher end of the scale.
I don’t mean to sound harsh; it’s not all her fault, her make-up artist should have known better! The fact is there are some very important make-up lessons worth learning when you reach your 40s, a list of dos and don’ts that are well worth remembering – so grab your notebooks and read on as I use Cam and Carmen as my shining examples…
CAMERON, DON’T: continue to line the inner water line of your eyes with black eyeliner. This makes your eyes look smaller than they are and accentuates any slight ‘drooping’ near the outer corners of your eyes. The jet-black shade also looks a bit ‘severe.’ Try Natio’s Define Eye Pencil in Charcoal instead.
CARMEN, DO: keep using a charcoal shade eyeliner and eyeshadow combo to fake a flick that points upwards. It ‘lifts’ your eyes and takes the focus off any fine lines around that area.
CAMERON, DON’T: rock a red lip quite that bright unless you reduce the colour in the rest of your face. A sweep of mattifying powder over your complexion would have been the perfect backdrop for a glossy fire engine red.
CARMEN, DO: give the colour in your lips an even, creamy base in which to pop off. We love that you’re rocking a matte complexion with a glossy lip. Our only quarrel? Go a little easier on the foundation or switch to a concealer/BB cream combo next time for less of a ‘made-up’ look.
CAMERON, DON’T: accentuate the redness in your complexion by wearing blush. Instead, switch to a bronzer that you can use to sculpt and define your cheekbones and jawline. We love Couleur Caramel Certified Organic Terre Caramel Bronzer because it contains organic shea butter, organic apricot oil, jojoba oil and cocoa butter for supremely nourished skin while you wear.
CARMEN, DO: keep those brows dark and defined for an instantly manicured, youthful look.
CAMERON, DON’T: shield your light brows with a shaggy fringe. Instead, keep your locks out of your face and ensure to fill in any sparse areas of your brows with a brow-defining pen like Xtreme Lashes Long Lasting Brow Pen, which tints the skin under your brows, instead of just the hairs.
CARMEN and CAMERON: If you’re worried about fine lines and wrinkles on your forehead, pull your hair back into a low or high pony. Sleeking your hair back will accentuate your neck area and provide an instant facelift-like effect!
