Minimise dark spots and fade freckles

While a few freckles across the nose can be cute when you’re a kid, as you get older they can tend to become more noticeable – and much less likeable! Likewise, as you age, pigmentation and sun spots become more pronounced, leaving you with a complexion that can look uneven and discoloured.
To help fade dark spots, pigmentation, age spots and freckles – and prevent against future damage – try these tips:
1.) Invest in a spot-targeting skin cream or serum as these are specifically formulated with special active ingredients that work to slow down the melanin production (responsible for producing dark spots) in your skin, therefore ensuring that your dark spots don’t get darker. Generally, they also simultaneously help to brighten and lighten pre-existing dark spots/pigmentation too. Try: Shiseido White Lucent Intensive Spot Targeting Serum.
2.) Always wear an SPF on your face – even if it’s overcast and rainy! UV rays are the number one cause of dark spots, freckles, pigmentation and age spots, so protecting against them is the best way to prevent both the darkening of existing spots, as well as future damage.
3.) If you want to lighten your complexion, look for skin care products containing vitamin C. This will help to slough away dead surface skin cells and in turn make your skin look brighter and more clear. Try: SK-II Cellumination Beauty Essence.

I used to take my skin so much for granted - really regret it now. Now I wear SPF Moisturiser every day.

Always wear sunscreen, exfoliate with salicylic acid or glycolic acid and use retinol A. Not only does this help to reduce freckles and pigmentation it also keeps you looking younger.

I do have some pigmentation. In the past I didn't protect myself well enough from the sun but now I'm very vigilant when I go out in the sun to always apply sunscreen & wear a hat.

I have pretty bad pigmented skin, thanks to spending too much time in the sun in my younger years. Sunscreen is an essential step in my skincare routine, tho I do need to reapply more often.

Sunscreen everyday all over as first line of defence then a good spot reducer or brighter. Howver I think there is no magic cure as I have been suffering with pigmentation for years and it's not really lightened.

I have a lot of freckles and moles, so sunscreen everyday is a must for me. Unfortunately my desire to be tan when i was a teenager has come back to bite me as a 30 something year old! For me skin whitening serums are amazing but nothing can beat sunscreen as your first line of defence.

Pigmentation becomes worse when I am pregnant. It is especially important to wear SPF and stay out of the sun because of Melasma pigmentation. I need a spot corrector stat!

The Estee Lauder Idealist Illuminating serum seems to be doing wonders to my skin, although I still have more pigmentation than I like.

I have had freckles since I was a kid, I still have them in my 40's and sun spots have come out in the last few years. I did not protect my skin at all when I was young, the more brown/cooked you were the better. Skin cancer was not a talked about subject at all. I have learnt nothing will fade or remove them so I use tinted moisturiser and foundation to even out my skin tone and reduce the appearance of freckles. Regular exfoliating, cleansing and moisturising ensures for a healthy look to my face regardless of freckles or sun spots. I always use sun protection now, I have for awhile but some damage has been done when I was growing up.
